Star centre-back ruled out of the Tottenham game this weekend – will be out for 6 to 8 weeks

Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi is set to miss the match against Tottenham this weekend, in what is a boost for the North London club.

According to the Athletic, the centre-back who was linked with a move to Spurs in the summer has suffered an injury and is set to be sidelined for six to eight weeks.

This will come as a blow for new Palace manager Oliver Glasner ahead of the game this weekend, but will come as good news for Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham will be hoping to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat against Wolves with a win against The Eagles.

They slipped down to the 5th place after Aston Villa won their games against Fulham and Nottingham Forest. Spurs are now trailing Unai Emery’s side by 5 points but they have a game in hand.

Ange Postecoglou’s side can not afford any more slip-ups if they want to finish top 4.

Spurs hold a key advantage in the race for a top-four finish as they are not competing in any other competition, allowing them to focus solely on the league.

On the other hand, Aston Villa are also involved in the UEFA Europa Conference League and have been drawn against Ajax in the Round of 16s.
