Spurs’ XI vs Marine|image

By The Boy -

The preamble to this game is slowly but surely doing me no good whatsoever. I think I may be suffering from a strain of post Merseyside traumatic stress that hitherto had yet to surface, despite having played Liverpool and Everton on numerous occasions since I lived up there.

These selections please me, as there’s enough to steamroller these part-timers, and then we can all finally move on with our lives. Up the Spurs.

Ali doesn’t do it for me. He’s too slow, can’t beat a man and too often slows down our attacks to walking pace.

Good advert for the FA Cup and Spurs. A real professional job and we have done our reputation nó harm at all.

Beeb just asked “what would you have declared the handicap score” and they say 5. I think that’s fair.

Passes are too slow, lack zip. No vision, could really moan about every element. Bar the fact he is always in space, but I am guessing even Marine don’t think he worth marking.

Job done, Dele, V, and most of the young lads did well, a new free taker and no one injured, Marine not disgraced, everyone’s a winner.

All them and any other player can prove today is that they deserve another chance. This game does not have the challenge to prove a starting or first 11 chance.

We’ve had a few free kicks already and no dead ball specialist. We need to sort this out. I find it strange Kane is such a good dead ball striker but can’t seem to take a decent free.

Was quite common for teams established in the late 1800’s to bed named after the factory where the players worked. Subsequently the village was also named after the factory. So sometimes it’s very hard to tell what came first. Marine a lot easier to devine.

Marine named after the hotel in which they were formed which is still in existence over a hundred years later. Good quiz question from their chairman are they the only British club not named after a City, Town or region.
