Spurs take ‘first steps’ towards Bundesliga ace for their 4th signing

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur has eyes on improving their backline this summer, and they have been connected to various players to help strengthen their group. The first choice was reportedly Alessandro Bastoni, but now it seems that fell by the wayside.

Conflicting reports have different names that the north London club is looking at for Plan B. according to the Mirror‘s report, Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is keen on making RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol his fourth addition this transfer window.

The Premier League side has already begun fixing their issues at backup goalkeeper, wing-back, and midfield, and it now seems they’re turning their attention to the central defence. Mail Online described Spurs as having taken the first steps’ towards the Bundesliga boy.

Spurs are looking at other options, and the 20-year-old is the latest but could be the most expensive considering his age and contract doesn’t expire until 2026. The report states RB Leipzig could be wanting a fee of around £42 million.

Gvardiol appeared in 45 fixtures last season for the Bundesliga side, scoring two goals and recording three assists.

In this game “ace” must mean only the low card in the deck BB.

An “ace” nobody has ever heard of, with stats lower than Dougherty, while playing more matches in an easier league. Wunderbar!!

Is he any good? 20 is definitely on the young side for what should be a starting 11 addition :/
