Spurs set to price teams out of signing Kane in the summer and he won’t join a rival

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham is set to keep hold of Harry Kane for another campaign, even though the Englishman has been tipped to join a team that wins regular trophies.

Kane has remained loyal to Spurs despite being one of the best strikers in the world.

But the England captain risks ending his career with little or no trophies to show for his goal-scoring exploits.

Reports have linked top European and English teams with a move for him and he may have a better chance of winning silverware with some of them.

However, Spurs will not let him go easily, according to Sun Sports who claim that the chances of him joining a rival is almost non-existent.

Manchester City and Manchester United have targeted him and they might make a move for him in the summer, but this development rules out a transfer to either side.

He is also being targeted by top European teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid and PSG.

But the report says Spurs will want £175m to sell him to any team outside England and that fee would be a lot to put up for any European side considering how the coronavirus pandemic has affected them all.

Spurs are currently in the final of the Carabao Cup and winning that competition will help Kane earn a trophy for the club before he leaves, if he leaves.

No chance… Maureen is no fool.. With all their history there is no way he will hand over Kane. He is no fool… For a transfer to go through all parties have to agree. We say no to that all day… We don’t seriously weaken ourselves while strengthening a rival.. Kane is irreplaceable… If he wants to go then he goes abroad.. Beckham Bale Modric treatment.. Top clubs like Madrid Barca Bayern, many would be keen… Man City don’t run the show.

Kane knows this is only the beginning at n€w lan€ tottenham. He knows what’s going on. Now is not the time to leave. Money was about to get spent. Little set back though. He knows he’s at a massive club with big dough coming in. He’ll win stuff here within the next few years. Tottenham do have real ambition

I just don’t see us challenging for the sort of trophies that will convince the likes of Kane to hang around. The lad’s 28 and entering his prime years. Only a club with real ambition can hang onto players like him. We’ve been lucky until now, due to his love for the club, but time and patience are surely running out

Why ain’t it happening at spurs?

No he’s not. He’s going to a club that he wants to play for. Levy can’t accept an offer for the player if he doesn’t want to go there. This ain’t slavery. Ultimately the decision lies with the player and his family

Only if Kane wanted the move. Levy only sells top players that want to leave.

Should Kane express a desire to quit the club in the summer like it or not he is going to the highest bidder me thinks!!

I would say the Chelsea thing is a whole different ball game. The hatred between fans is on a par with that lot from Woolwich. Levy knows he wouldn’t survive selling a player of Kane’s stature to Chelsea. If however, City come in with £150-170m; and it’s a move that Kane himself wants; are you saying, in our current financial situation, that Levy will say no thanks. I believe he would publicly say all the things Spurs fans would want to hear, but the deal would happen, for sure.

This is how a top club should operate.. You don’t sell best players to rivals.. Walker to City, look what happened the next year… If they want to go then fair enough, send them abroad like Bale…. If a player wants to pick and choose a club then they have to be a free agent. He would have to run his contract out… People say contracts don’t account for much, but they do, we own Kane so get a huge say where he goes.. Levy and Redknapp refused Modders to Chelsea too.

Aside from his loyalty up until now, how sure are we that he wouldn’t be tempted by a move to City, Utd; or any other premier league team thats takes winning trophies seriously?
If I were in his shoes; and I do love my club, I would be thinking about breaking Shearer’s record, in addition to winning trophies. That just ain’t happening at Spurs during his remaining career, but would be a racing certainty at City.
