Spurs opponent for their next game might be Fulham instead of Aston Villa

By Bruce Grove -

Following the covid-19 outbreak at Aston Villa, the Premier League is considering changing Tottenham’s next league opponents to Fulham.

Spurs are supposed to face Villa in their next game on Wednesday, but the covid outbreak at the club has forced several of their players to self-isolate.

They had to field their youth team players for their FA Cup game against Liverpool at the weekend.

The Athletic say the Premier League is now considering replacing their next match against Spurs with a home game for Jose Mourinho’s side against Fulham instead.

Fulham has been left unhappy with the development, even though it isn’t certain yet.

The Cottagers just played 120 minutes of football against QPR on Saturday and their next game was supposed to be against Chelsea on Friday, but they will now be forced to play another game within days if the Premier League goes through with this plan.

Tottenham had already expected to play another match before the weekend and Mourinho rested most of his key players for the FA Cup game against Marine.

Whatever decision the Premier League comes up with, It should suit Spurs, especially because it will help them avoid a fixture pile-up.
