Tottenham Hotspur reportedly had sent scouts to watch RB Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko.
The 19-year-old is one of the most sought-after strikers in the world and has already scored 22 goals in 68 appearances in the Austrian league.
According to reports by 90min, scouts from several Premier League clubs, including Tottenham, Manchester United, West Ham, Leicester, Wolves, and Leeds, as well as Italian club Inter Milan, were in attendance to watch Sesko score a hat-trick in a 4-2 win.
The young striker’s performance helped RB Salzburg extend their lead at the top of the table.
RB Salzburg has a reputation for developing world-class players who go on to dominate Europe.
Some of the players the club has produced and sold include Dayot Upamecano, Marcel Sabitzer, Sadio Mane, and, of course, Erling Haaland. It looks like Sesko will be the next in line.
Sesko is been labeled as the ‘next Erling Haaland’ due to his goal scoring prowess, as well as his physical attributes, including his strength and speed. He possesses excellent finishing ability and is comfortable with both feet.
It’s no surprise that Tottenham are showing an interest in Sesko, especially with the uncertain future surrounding Harry Kane.
Even if Kane stays, the England captain is approaching 30, and the club will need to start looking at long-term replacements for him.
With the player attracting interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, it’s only a matter of time before he makes a big move.
Tottenham will face stiff competition if they decide to pursue Sesko, but the potential rewards could be huge.
The striker has all the attributes to become a world-class player and could be an excellent long-term investment for the club.
