Erik Lamela has been one of the most frustrating Tottenham signings of the last 30 years.
That, really is saying something.
However, this season, it isn’t sensationalism to say that the boy has been somewhat of a revelation.
In no particular order, here are some examples of the high standards that the 27-year-old has brought to his game in the 2019/20 season.
Against the Foxes. Lamela lost the ball on just 4 occasions, a stark contrast to characters such as Son, Eriksen and his holiness, Harry Kane.
Against Leicester City, Lamela was a damn menace in the attacking third, creating 3 chances for Spurs.
Against Palace, Erik proved that so called luxury players can’t put a shift in. Recovering the ball tells any manager they have a man in the shirt who genuinely cares.
The Argentine’s passing accuracy has routinely been pitching in the eightieth percentile this season – hitting 90% in the North London Derby, on the 1st of September.
The case for starting Erik Lamela is a compelling one.
Yeah start Lamela if you want to get well beat.
Good call, he also has 2 goals and an assist this season already.
Briefly digressing no fluke why the impressive Foxes are currently riding high in the table, flow, fluidity and clinical finishing aided by plenty of width and creativity we lack!!
He was an engineer. Spent 9 years in the RAF. could fix anything mechanical.
This must be his longest unbroken run of games since he joined the club I believe.Maybe there is some truth in the story I read, can’t remember where, about him going to some woman doctor in Mauritius or somewhere to get some treatment on his hip, where she removed a piece of muscle or something.
If true then perhaps his trip was well worth it.Yes he can be a niggly bastard, but he always tries to influence games, not always successfully, but more than some.Unfortunately I think Poch will start Eriksen.
Was your old man a steelie too?
Thank you mummy and daddy for heading to Tottenham London and not Newcastle. Mi old man’s a yid anyway😁
Lamela really is very close to the present day Darren Anderton, obviously talented but mainly injuried and unable this get a run of form going. Although Anderton was able in the end to perform at a high level in the short periods in which he got fit.
Lamela you feel Is a confidence player but one that puts in a shift all the same. Many of us may have been a little unkind to him over the last few years, mainly through frustration.
However, you wonder if he’d stayed as fit as Eriksen has, just what Coco would have achieved with us. I feel he deserves some luck with his injuries and our backing to go with it. Yes, start him and bench Middlephart…
The WSL NLD at the new lane I can’t find out the ticket prices. My guess is a fiver. (Which is OK coz all the gate money goes to the ladies kitty. Unless Daniel takes some😁 he should be happy with the food&drink money. Actually its being televised, I wonder if he’ll take that too. 30.000 plus crowd I reckon. 25.000 at west ham earlier.
it doest matter who Poch picks, someone will do something stupid in the first 10mins and we will go 0-1 down either way…😬
Pleased for him, wanted him to get a proper run in the side – always looks hungry for the cause but used to be a little too niggly, a yellow card every game guaranteed.
I reckon lamella woulda made a good wing back. Think he’s a great squad player. I like him. Needs to stop moving his head when he runs.
Yidies yidies yidies yidies. Up to 5th.😊 well done girls. £2 very well spent😁
I personally have always liked him. When he plays he tries damn hard and isn’t that bad with the ball. Just stands out more at the moment as bad Kane he is the only one midfield and forward putting in a shift.
Lamelas a tryer. He’ll get a run in the side cos there’s no options really.
Out the top 4 quick smart….not even sure how we were in that position anyway after the poor form. Thought Leicester might lose.
