Spurs monitoring €24M rated ‘key’ Premier League 19-year-old

The Boy Hotspur understands Brighton & Hove Albion’s 19-year-old Jack Hinshelwood is attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur. So far in his Premier League career, he has appeared 30 times in the division, with five goals. A recent report in the Mirror online described him as a key Brighton player.

However, Hinshelwood’s knee injury in the past has caused the clubs to take a cautious attitude, whilst his current value is estimated at €24 million, Brighton will likely want far more.

Although Hinshelwood has made a strong return to the pitch after the injury, proving that his skills and work discipline have not been compromised, interested clubs have rigorously assessed the player’s physical stamina.

Despite this, Brighton & Hove Albion are expected to demand a fee of around €40 million for the young talent.

Our view

A Brighton-supporting friend of mine has described the youngster as unsellable, and a potential captain, which is clearly some endorsement. The boy has made an impression.

Tottenham has made some notable progress in the promotion of youngsters, but is this down to Postecoglou having injured so many of his senior ones? Can Ange be truly trusted with youth, what’s happened to Micky Moore?

It’s looking increasingly likely that Spurs will have a new manager next year, and perhaps Hinshelwood is one of those difficult first tasks to address.

Where is Johan Lange during the current fiasco, what change management structure is at play at Spurs?

In conclusion, an exciting prospect, but are Spurs actually in a position to do the right thing?!
