Spurs Into 5/1 To Win The Title

By The Boy -

FOUR TEAMS ARE CURRENTLY PRICED at 5/1 or shorter with Ladbrokes to win the Premier League.

The bookies now make it a four-horse race to the title, with Liverpool leading the way at 7/4 ahead of Manchester City (2/1), with the two previous league winners, Chelsea and Tottenham are now priced at 5/1 apiece to top the table come next May.

Spurs went top of the table last night after beating Manchester City 2-0, and we stayed there as Leicester City were proved incapable of doing any damage at Anfield, where the Foxes lost by 3 goals to nil. Alex Apati of Ladbrokes told The Boy Hotspur:

“This year’s title race looks like it might well go right down to the wire with four clubs now being priced at 5/1 or shorter to top the table come the end of the season.”

This season has still such a long way to go, all these fluctuations from the bookies are no more than a device to incite fans to have a punt – which is fair play to them – that is after all their business!

I take a view that the gruelling Christmas schedule will provide us with a better idea, at least in respect of which sides are having success in managing their squads effectively. Points dropped can never be regained.

Comparing points after 9 games from last season,Spurs +8, Liverpool -5. Chelsea +1 Leicester +1 Man Utd +3 with a game in hand. Arsenal -2 Man City -7 with a game in hand. The so called yesterday’s man Jose seems to be ahead of his rivals not just in the table.

I placed my cheeky £20 on us winning the league at 18/1 so we’re definitely moving in the right direction

Hmmm trifle too early for this talk. My guess is 3rd. But I may amend that in a fortnights time…
