Spurs in a four-horse race for the signature of Turkish international

By Bruce Grove -

Zeki Celik has emerged as a transfer target for Tottenham, but the Lilywhites face increased competition from other teams for his signature.

The 24-year-old Turkish fullback was one of Lille’s best players as they won the French Ligue 1 this season.

Lille is notoriously a selling club that has sold the likes of Eden Hazard and Nicolas Pepe to the Premier League over the years.

They will be braced for teams to dismantle their winning squad when the transfer window reopens and Celik is one player that is likely to move.

The Evening Standard reports that Tottenham is one of four teams who have been linked with a move for him.

The report says the Lilywhites face competition from Manchester United and Arsenal in the Premier League and Inter Milan from Italy.

They signed Matt Doherty to replace the inconsistent Serge Aurier last summer, but the Republic of Ireland international hasn’t been the best of signings.

Despite his poor form, Spurs will likely cash in on Aurier when the transfer window reopens and Celik is one of the best options they can get to replace him.

It remains unclear if they will have to wait until a new manager arrives before they begin transfer activities, but they have identified him as a target.

None of these swaps with City players will happen.

When you hear these words, ‘Spurs are battling club xyz for such and such a player’, just turn the page.

It’s to do with this country’s ethnic stats. There’s less black managers for a reason. Not sure why the word fascism is even raised here. People like Ince and Barnes got job opportunites even after doing very little. As mentioned, Campbell’s in line for under 21’s despite failing in all his jobs. You will see more diversity in management as time goes on, as the demographic shifts. Nobody’s stopping ethnic minoritys from playing so it makes no sense that they’d stop them managing. It’s agenda all of it.

Sterling wouldn’t take a step down to Spurs, so this rumour is nonsense – and if by some miracle he does, that will be the end of me being able to watch. I can barely endure half hour of him playing for England, let alone a whole season for SPurs

I do not want to get into that, but u said it. Look around your own league and see how many black managers there are. We need to hire on merit, but when you look at the failed white managers per year that have no problem getting a job it is a cause of concern. Big Sam should not be anywhere near a sunday league team. Yet is hired once again. But let me leave it alone. Maybe you do not want to be called a facist, but being silent is complict. Now complict is not racism, it is hear no ear evil, see no evil which is fine to keep the cycle going. The FA is paying lip service to BLM. The sooner they stop the charade the better. There is no seat at the table for black managers so they can pack that schism of manadating take a knee.

Yes and look how well Morecambe did once they were rid of “a great football mind”. A pity about Southend but there the damage was unrepairable..

Rumor makes your head spin. Sterling does not offer a #9 . He more s wide man to add to Bergwjin and Moura Jesus does not have 15-20 goals as #9 goals per season. Useless ink on this. If we are getting a creative #8 then with Son it would be a very quick but small front line. We have no defender except for Toby who can actually score a goal with their head. Even if Kane stays. We need to be focus on getting a holding mid and #8 on the attacking side. The defense is another time another topic.

I don’t know when Spurs got money to have a race to sign a player Levy/Enic PR, but this is real news Man City wants to offer Jesus+Sterling+£40 mill to get Kane is that a good deal or a bad deal what you think?

Yes he wont be available by the time the season starts as levy always has to make any sale/purchase agonizing and prolonged. That is why we always have so much dead wood.

Hopeful in the extreme. Look at who they picked to manage England and the U21/3s(Judas has now asked to be considered for the latter. they do not care!

On another subject, another dirty far eastern agent is busy attempting to destroy another great old English club. Sheffield Wednesday are in a mess, players unpaid and not looking good. Why are these parasites allowed to get involved with football clubs?? More destruction of the fabric of British society through football clubs being taken over and run into the ground. Communities disintegrate because of it. It’s all over the place. Wednesday are a massive club and they may end up bust. Travesty. EFL and F.A need to weed out the morons and start to take care of our clubs.
