According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Tottenham have identified Jonathan David as a possible Harry Kane replacement if the striker ends up leaving the club this summer.

Harry Kane’s future is set to be one of the talking points of this transfer window with several clubs including Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Real Madrid and PSG interested in signing him.

However, it is the German giants who have made the first move having made an initial offer of £60m. The bid was swiftly rejected by Spurs as it fell £40m short of their £100m valuation for the player.

As per Ben Jacobs, Bayern Munich are prepared to make another offer worth £80m for the superstar.

Bayern hope that the player will make a push for an exit which will aid them to sign him.

However he adds that Spurs position is clear, they will reject any offer they recieve for him with Levy apparently willing to risk losing him on a free next season.

Given the situation where Kane does end up leaving Tottenham, Jacobs claims that the club has identified Jonathan David as a possible replacement.

Jonathan David has had a terrific season in the French Ligue, making 30 goal contributions (26 goals and 4 assists) across all competitions for Lille.

He joined the Ligue 1 side in 2020 for €27m and in three years he has racked up 58 goals and 9 assists in 136 appearances.

The Canadian striker’s market value as per Transfermarkt has since then risen to  €60m, which is a testament to his consistent performances.
