Spurs facing competition from Premier League rival for Real Madrid man

By Bruce Grove -

Leeds United has emerged as competition for Tottenham in the battle for the signature of Lucas Vazquez.

The Spaniard will end his 14-year association with Real Madrid at the end of this campaign when his contract expires.

The attacker broke through from the club’s academy and has enjoyed a run in the team in Zinedine Zidane’s two spells as their manager.

However, he will be out of a contract in the summer and Sun Sports claims talks of a new deal has broken down.

This had opened the door for Tottenham to sign him as Jose Mourinho rebuilds the team.

Spurs and Madrid have good relations and have been exchanging players in the transfer market for some time now.

The Lilywhites will, however, have to convince him that joining them is best for him because there is serious competition for his signature.

Sport Witness says Leeds is looking to add him to their side as they bid to become one of the mainstays in the Premier League.

He also has interest from Everton with Carlo Ancelotti looking for a reunion and Milan is also monitoring his situation.

Offering Champions League football might help Spurs beat the competitions to his signature.
