Spurs could get new deal done and dusted within ‘a matter of weeks’

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min is expected to be handed a new contract by the London club.

The 31-year-old is one of the best players at the club and he has been a key player for Tottenham since joining the club nine seasons ago.

Although the South Korean international had a mediocre campaign last year, he has looked quite effective this year and the player has three goals in five league appearances for Tottenham so far this season.

Son is not only one of the best attackers at the club, he is also the club captain. The South Korean international is a part of the leadership group at the club and it is no surprise that Tottenham are hoping to keep him at the club for as long as possible.

A report from 90 Min claims that Spurs are hoping to secure a new deal with the player and they are currently in talks with him and his representatives.

The report further states that an agreement could be done and dusted within ‘a matter of weeks’. The new contract could be signed before Christmas.

Keeping Son at the club will be crucial to their hopes of challenging for major trophies. Tottenham need to hold on to their best players in order to return to the Champions League and compete with the elite clubs.

Son has been a reliable performer in the Premier League over the years and he could help them end their wait for a trophy.
