Spurs Confirmed XI for The League Cup Final |image

By The Boy -

Good afternoon boys and girls and welcome to the 2021 League Cup final where Manchester City host Tottenham Hotspur in League Cup on Sunday 25th April, 4:30 pm at Etihad Stadium.

Players to watch: City’s Rodri scored the opener in the last H2H and grabbed a first-half header in midweek – he did the same thing in the 2019/20 English Football League Cup final! After Gareth Bale scored on Wednesday, Tottenham is now unbeaten in the last 25 games that the Welsh wizard has found the net for the club (W22, D3).

Form on the road: Man City have won 85% of their last 20 home cup games and Spurs have lost 30% of their last 20 away cup games.

Prediction? Spurs to score at least once.

At the moment I have faith in the selection
but I’m sure in twenty minutes I’ll be launching the remote at the T.V

Dier and Winks. I feel hope draining from me.

Mendy is sh-t, Zinchenko isn’t great either, Rodri was roundly described as a downgrade from Fernandinho.

Gundogan has been their most in-form player recently and plays in the middle with KdB – I don’t see how Pep is going easy on us?

No Rodri, No Mendy, No Bernardino, No Jesus, No Zinchenko., No Torres……is that a City team that is going all out? Gundogan and Fernandinho? Middle of park battle conceded

Oh look…Kane starts. What a farce that was, as if there was any chance he wouldn’t. Dier and Winks. 😶

We’re doomed…Aurrier v Sterling..hahaha 😂. Furthermore Tanguy is so fragile he has to start else theres a strong chance of a sub needing subb’d… barring injury first sub will be lo no show around 50-70 mins guaranteed….

I don’t know, not sure he’s got a full match of going at it in him these days. Our best bench player probly; good shout the Boy Wonder.

Kane is sensational on his day, but why does this feel like the Euro Final all over again? Half-fit Kane who should have been used late on and a mega disappointment. Same again? Hell, hope springs eternal, this could just be our day. A coach just out of nappies against one of the best, a bunch of nearly men against Englands premier team. 2-1 Spurs to rub it in it’s all we ever get. COYS!

If Winks’ main focus is the David Batty midfield sweeper role, then giving it short & quick to someone who can find a forward, he’s capable of doing a good job. If memory serves he was MotM once playing that role.

Bar PEH not one option is any good in midfield so doesn’t really matter.

If Mason can rediscover the Winks that was quite good for a few games three years ago, maybe!

Correct call to drop Ndombele, he has beennpants lately. Perhaps a bit of Winks sideways, backwards is what we need today to get a foothold of the game

He’s not afraid of making a bold call. Fair play, Mase.
