Spurs Are Still On Track One Match Won’t Define The Season| video analysis

By The Boy -

Balanced stuff from the gaffer here, whose comment about staying on the right path makes absolute sense. Tottenham weren’t humiliated in any respect, nor were we beaten soundly. Liverpool are the reigning champions of England and Europe, and they pinched a goal at the end of the game to win it. Nobody feels great about losing and that in itself, is a positive.

I just wish Lloris would challenge and leave his goal line, when the opposition take a corner, he’s just static.

Was a very good performance with match winning chances we couldn’t take.
Bergy needs to improve his finishing or find himself on the bench next season when Bailey takes his place.
Kane will also have nightmares about that missed header

I agree, it will be the games like the Palace one that will be the bigger factor. Jose is well capable of getting the team to rise to the occasion as they did last night but it’s not seeing off teams by being too conservative that might be the bigger issue. I thought second half we were much improved BECAUSE we had the ball and not the other way around.

What Liverpool proved though is that possession of the ball and creating attacks is no excuse to switch off and get done defensively, what we proved is that we are a better team with the ball than one is allowing us to be most of the time.

Also, dunno what was up with Bale to miss the biggest game of the season so far but I’d have backed him to stick those two Stevie B chances away.

Also, I thought Jose’s post match on Amazon was slightly embarrassing. “I told him the best team lost” “why is he jumping around on the touchline?” etc The demeanour of a petulant child I thought just because we lost, grow up Jose, you’re 57 ffs…

won loss wont define a season, much like one win. Jose been very straight about that all season. Liverpool are prone to losing some easy games so there is still a chance. For me, the 2 points lost to Palace speak more than the game last night. Away to anfield, you are stupid if you play open attacking football for 90mins. I would have like to have seen more composure on the ball, and possession retention to reduce the pressure – but it was what it was in the end, and we could have nicked it (anyone remember the Chelsea game away at the bridge, Redknapp in charge I think when we defended really deep all game and Keane almost nicked it at the close, missing a header from 6yrds…they had a really bitter manager that game. lmao).

Leicester will be the tell tale, if we fail to win, it will speak volumes for me. we have drawn way too many of late trying to defend marginal leads in games where we could have won with a little more attack.

Maybe I’m just hoping but I have a feeling palace will beat them in the next game so painful as this was it is by far not the end. Looking at the league if united win their games in hand they go above us. A lot to happen yet but we must forget that one and move on.

I’d forgotten what it feels like to lose a big game. Bitter. I don’t like it much!
