Spurs among the chasing pack for Bundesliga star

By Bruce Grove -

With five goals and assists in the Bundesliga this season, it is understandable that Leon Bailey is catching the attention of some of Europe’s top teams again, and Tottenham is among them.

The Jamaican has emerged as one of the most impressive wingers in Europe’s top leagues over the last few seasons.

His fine form has been one of the reasons why Bayer Leverkusen is second in the German Bundesliga, just behind Bayern Munich.

The Germans sold Kai Havertz in the last transfer window, but Bailey has stepped up in his absence, and he might be their next player that moves to England.

The Daily Mail says that he has caught the attention of Tottenham and some other teams and they will be watching him in the Europa League against Slavia Prague today.

The report says that he has taken on the greater responsibility of playmaking for the German side after the departure of Havertz, and he has shown that he can be trusted in European and domestic competitions.

There was interest in him in the last transfer window, but after making more than enough money on the sale of Havertz to Chelsea, Leverkusen refused to reduce their £36 million valuation of the attacker.

It remains unclear if Spurs will make their move for him in the next transfer window or wait until the summer.
