Tottenham are reportedly among the clubs considering entering the running to sign Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez.
This is according to a report from Tuttomercatoweb, which also lists big names like Inter Milan, Napoli and Roma as being interested in the Uruguay international.
Spurs have also been linked with AC Milan’s Frank Kessie by Calciomercato recently, so it seems that a new midfielder is clearly high on the agenda for Fabio Paratici and the club recruitment team.
Nandez is perhaps not the biggest name on these shores, but one imagines that Paratici will know all about him from his time working in Serie A, so it could give him some edge in any transfer battle, thanks to his contacts in Italy.
Tanguy Ndombele has been one of Spurs’ most disappointing signings off recent times, so it might be that another major investment is needed in that area of the pitch if the team is to go back to being a serious challenger for a top four spot.
