Spurs already know who they will sign with Aurier transfer fee

By Bruce Grove -

Spurs have been linked with a move for Brighton full-back Tariq Lamptey after his fine performances for the Seagulls.

The Chelsea youth product proved to be one of the finest right-backs in the Premier League last season.

His campaign was cut short by an injury in December, but he had shown enough quality to have admirers around Europe.

The England Under 21 international is now considered the ideal replacement for Serge Aurier, according to the Daily Mail.

The report says Spurs expects to sell Aurier this summer as the Ivorian looks to have no future in north London.

He is expected to make a return to PSG where he would be reunited with Mauricio Pochettino.

Spurs signed Matt Doherty from Wolves last summer and he had been expected to play ahead of Aurier.

However, the Republic of Ireland International was in poor form and Aurier played more matches than expected.

It remains unclear if Doherty will do better under Tottenham’s next manager, but the club is looking to bolster their squad to give their next boss a good platform to work with.

Lamptey has a long-term contract at Brighton and the Seagulls will look for around £50 million to sell him.

Sounds like a plan!

I seem to recall him providing some attacking threat, but not sure of his defensive qualities, plus would brighton really sell this guy AND Ben WHite in the same window? Would be premier league survival suicide.

Plus, £50m – jog on!

Exactly right James plus we STILL don’t have a coach/manager last time I looked. Unbelievable it it wasn’t Spurs.

Just read a piece in which former player, Paul Stewart, fears we could be in a relegation dogfight next term.

Take all these transfers with a pinch of salt.

PSG are said to be signing Hakimi from Inter as their right back so why would they need Aurier?

This is a non starter then if Lampty is valued at 50 mil , 20 mil if we’re lucky for Aurier ENIC will not be funding the difference better throw Winks and Doherty in as well
