Jose Drops One Name After Everton Game That Ought To Get Spurs Fans Stoked

By The Boy -

I’ve made no effort to conceal my contempt for much of the Spurs Academy product in the past, because the endless hoo-ha over players that very few had seen play, who then only went on to underwhelm was fatiguing.

In the gaffer’s post Everton game remarks, Mourinho did a clever thing which it appears very few bothered to pick up on. Jose doesn’t speak in an unthinking manner.

Dan Kilpatrick carried the quote, as many did, but all bar one of the comments that ensued, were in respect of Ryan Sessegnon.

Cirkin has been tipping away, paying his dues at Tottenham since 2018. Judging by the 18-year-old’s stats, that hard work has been a decent investment.

Naturally, there’s a leap between U19 games and the Premier League, but Cirkin is undeniably heading in the right direction, as the boy’s average passing accuracy of 81.8% suggests.

Dennis Cirkin’s heat map

Crikin looks to be on his way and it’s great to see a coach of Mourinho’s stature feature the lad in an elite game – even if it was on the bench.

We’ve got some best actions of Dennis cued up to share with you today, so stay tuned!

The Academy like everything football related needs a good shakeup. Let’s hope Jose sorts it, he knows how Chelsea’s works so he knows what needs doing.

I agree it’s tiring hearing about countless youth players who never make the grade. I’m very happy for them when they do, but it doesn’t happen often.

That said, when players do break through, they are saving us from spending tens of millions so one every now and again coming through is ok. Also some of the ones that don’t make it into our team are still good enough to sell for a few million – players like Townsend, Livermore, Mason, Pritchard, Carroll etc.
