Tottenham’s attacking offer is remarkably dysfunctional, despite the wealth of allegedly attack minded players on The Special One’s roster. We have Dele Alli who threaten to have a good game in maybe every four, Lucas Moura who appears to cover more ground than clockwork mouse, and there’s Sonny who can frequently pull off miraculous works, but getting a second striker remains seemingly a puzzle.
Not content with signing an Arsenal fan in Matty Doherty, it appears that José is now interested in securing the services of a former Arsenal player, in Olivier Giroud. A source close to the club tells me that Mourinho’s patience with Bournemouth’s transfer fee demands has been rapidly ebbing away and the Portuguese wants to get a deal in place, sooner rather than later.
The Kosher One’s solution is none other than the one time filthy Gunner, Olivier Giroud, himself.
Olivier would bring, along with Joe Hart, greater maturity to the group, along with that crucial experience of knowing what it takes to silverware. For too long, we were fed this line about the youthfulness of the Spurs squad, as if this was some great virtue. The reality was the production of players knew how to do silly finger tricks, but had never laid their hands on a cup.
Last season Giroud scored 6 times for Chelsea and 8 times for France.
My down vote. Better coach who’s better coaching has won him nothing in his whole entire managerial life? OK then. Show me a picture of poch in a whistle holding up something shiny. I’ll show you untold of my current manager doing so. Internet.
It’s the impression I get. It’s like you’re constantly pushing against the flow (new lane flow) Itching to say “see, told ya” to make you seem clever.
Lost. What a pile of bo**ocks…
I din’t start with the bra tops, you did. You clearly don’t do irony do you? And you’re calling me stupid! 😂
Like I say, he has a lot to live up to…
About time he did something good here. Mandem say “you never see him supporting any of the Tottenham barbers (shape up) or any of the Caribbean food outlets.
You’re lost. I pity you.
I agree, but it’s all relative. What have Spurs won in the recent past, particularly under ENIC?
Based on his past you can’t argue with Jose’s record and I’m fairly confident we will with something under him because the focus will be on that now. It’s what we win and what the long term game is.
If we win some wooden spoons like the League Cup and Ropey it won’t be part of a ‘journey’ to winning the league or Champions League. It will be a few crumbs to throw to the peasants while the biggest and most ambitious clubs compete for the serious stuff. This is no new dawn…
This comments confirms to me you are total stupid
Guys unbelievable. He’s lost.
You’re so Stuck in the dark past you can’t even see this is the beginning of a bright future. Get out of the old lane and into the new one.
One of many…. Also before he told everyone he was leaving if we won it…. Not sure the logic or motivation behind that but it didn’t help.
Remember Jose hugging materazzi when he left for madrid? Both crying… After winning the CL… Poch leaving us in weird interviews is a stark contrast…. The game is about winning. Noone remembers the losers.
Poch has got a lot to live up to…. Jose has won it all. Repeatedly!
No chance. Klopp has won 9 trophies so far so he’s in the top ten or seven of winning managers. Only two less than Zidane who is in the top five…. Pep leads the way with 29 trophies… Our gaffer Mourinho is second best with a whopping 25 trophies. He was the first to win in england, italy and spain….. Poch is nowhere to be seen with zero trophies…… Poch still spent money at espanyol, saints and spurs putting him in top 20 odd of spenders so he still spent alot of money compared to other managers and clubs who won stuff.
Great player. Great pundit… Only type of team he will ever manage again is the likes of sunderland… Us southern fairies don’t need a northen monkey like him… He is hilarious though. Especially when that fuse begins to go.
Then Soldado, Jansen, llorente… A shocking drop.
This slightly worries me… Hitchens scouting has been very hit and miss.. Thanks for all that information though, all news to me.
The more bra tops the better right?
No it isn’t, Gio is a good player 100%. Don’t tell you know who I’ve said something positive, his zombie head might topple off… 😂
Ohhh way too expensive players like that, we’ve got a cheese room to stock mate!! 😂
He got more than that, at least three midfielders and a fullback as well.
You’re really bigging up Jose, he’s got a lot to live up to. Top four consistently and a Champions League final first please. Then we can begin to compare him to previous managers, he must start from there to even be in the race.
Let’s see what he can do for Spurs, not Chavs, us…
When we had ambition we won stuff and played everyone off the park, the Spurs way.
29% possession at home? Not on Bills watch!!
Well at least it’s based on facts, rather than the poorly informed judgemental garbage you spout about other fans. You’re negative to anyone who doesn’t agree with your stance on Levy, therefore you’re also a massive hypocrite. Yawn…
No pressure there then!!
“Steve Hitchen has been promoted to technical performance director. This new role will focus on building capabilities to support a world-class football infrastructure across senior and youth teams.
“As technical performance director, Steve will have responsibility for scouting, performance and recruitment analysis and youth recruitment.
Yep, all sounds very grandiose but to what effect remains to be seen!
Trevor Birch’s appointment at Spurs has led the north London club to create a new football board, led by chairman Daniel Levy.
“Trevor will focus on the development of the club’s football operations.
“As part of a wider external remit, Rebecca Caplehorn will take on the role of director of football administration and governance.
“This newly-created role will lead, drive and embed football governance processes, contractual matters and best practice across the club.
“Trevor Birch has extensive industry experience and has held several prominent roles within football, including having previously been chairman of Swansea City and CEO of Chelsea, Sheffield United, Derby County, Everton and Leeds United.

I see the club has restructured it’s football operations
Ernest Owens was going on about it big time on Twitter yesterday, turned into a pile on. Most of them not knowing she at the Notting Hill festival. David Lammy’s tweet was good.
More negative crap.
They are not good enough to clean Pav’s boots !
Ta. Happy to entertain me lud!
Following that CL final defeat the pinnacle of his reign he should have bowed out then, having taken the club as far as he could go was a broken man!
Perhaps it would not have made any difference but IMO as previously said his worst decision and a big decision it was, was to drop Moura for the CL Final.
He can be whatever you want him to be as long as he stays away and doesn’t disturb the master at work
A half a crown first got me into the Lane!
Seeing George Best play in front of sell out crowd was a good un!
Ballers
Also had 2 solid full backs then in Messrs Knowles and Kinnear respectively!
Yep Jennings, Gilzean, Greaves, MacKay, Cliff Jones,Mike England et al
Don’t worry. Gerrard coming to fk all that good work up soon🌚.
A quality keeper and centre half!
Natural born baller man.
Eyebrows raised he simply required 2 players and got em!
You Started going the year I was born. 🌚👍 1965
Those were the days, jumpers for goalposts etc…
In 1972 we won the EUEFA Cup. I was there!
I’ve been at the Lane since 1965!
1967 my first sweet taste of a tropy.
1961 I was 3!
Got the job done with the right tools at his disposal. Respect must be given, I agree.
It’s funny when at one time we had an abundance of riches of strikers,
Sherringham, Keane, Defoe et al!
I’ve been at the lane when bill nick was manager. I didn’t even know who bill nick was🌚 1972 when I was 7
Indeed! You do come out with some classics DD!! Excellent stuff! 😂
Open top bus bredrin. N17 vibzing🌚 don’t let the wonky lot in.
Bearing in mind our history of signing ‘backup’ strikers, and the dross we are currently linked with, Giroud is by far the best of the bunch.
The main points being experience, aggression and reliability. Surely you cant seriously ell me that if Kane spends his usual 2 months in the treatment room come xmas that you’d rather see Josh effing King pottering about up front?
Ah that’s all part of the trick you see. It’s called ‘expectation management’ it’s Levy’s thing and he’s been doing it or over 20 years…
Massive budget aside Klopps alright. You bet he is alright!
It’s now becoming that desperate that I’d also be happy to win any trophy!
All correspondence to Mr Levy please… 😂
I still believe Poch is the better coach/manager. The difference between them ended up being one having a transfer budget of about 280m and the other having zilch. Klopp’s alright, Poch is better…
Surprisingly this fearsome character has not made a good manager!
Your snide if you’re happy with second best for Spurs. Loser mentality…
Now that would be f**ckin hilarious!! 😂
Listen to this guy. He doesn’t even realize how important any trophy is right about now. To be the first of many. Snide
Not before Sacramento.
I have visions of Scotty Parker being a future Spurs manager!
That said he seems to have got his mojo back!
Alli would not survive 10 mins under Keane!!
Call it a wind up but my next nominated Manager is Roy Keane who will ruffle a few Southern softies feathers!!
Oldish chappy I am when presumably not many of us of this blog can say they attended WHL to see us beat Torino to win the Anglo-Italian Cup. 36,000 were present that eve!
Yes he had the backing of the Board addresssing their weaknesses and vividly recall your less than complementary comments about Klopp on a past blogs calling him a bit zany / quirky or words to this effect!
Well, I have to say that I’m 100% with you old chap. However I still feel that Jose is capable of landing a few wooden spoons nobody cares about to stick in the cabinet to keep the thickos happy… 😂
Whilst I am happy to eat humble pie I just can’t see it happening under the current regime especially if and when Kane departs!
And on the subject of Liverpool, an exemplary display of board backing the coach. While at Spurs Levy thought “ooh, we’re doing far better than I expected with his guy, no need to spend a penny” rather than grab the nettle when it mattered and give the fans what they dream of…
As one of my closest Arsenal friends reminded me Arsenal have won more trophies in the past couple of months than we have done in over 20 years!. That hurts but sill look back at our past illustrious history with ultra satisfaction!!
Easty call me a doom monger got news for you that we shall probably not win another trophy ever. Alas those dreams were extinguished when Liverpool won the CL and the Foxes won the PL title in 2016. All iffs and buts, close but not quite!
To me this is Levy backing Jose cautiously and for the short term with players that fit his methods. All fairly cheap deals for proven Prem players but no big names or big transfers. A bit like what he did with Arry.
This is no revolution or gearing up for big things, this is ‘lets Go and win a cup or two, like the Ropey, FA or League Cup’ but that will be it. When Jose wants that player or two which we WILL need to compete for the big stuff, there will be the usual parting of ways.
Next coach on the conveyor belt please…
Judgement is out on Lo Celso!
Whichever way you care to wrap it up and attach blame the signings of Aurier and Ndombele have been expensive flops. Regarding Fernandes, yes we bought the wrong one!
Tell you what cush, don’t underestimate some of them youts vocabulary. Some take word and word play very seriously. Shakespeare would be proud. Yep re the Gypsy mandem. I can’t understand a word of it🌚
So true. The yesfam nobluds have taken over…. The travellers/gypsies are the masters of slang in our country I would say. 😆 Also the cornish have their own language which is bizzare.
In hebrew kosher literally means ‘fit’ and ‘appropriate’ …. So you are blowing hot air over nothing… PC gone mad… Shall we not use roman or Italian words just in case the roman catholics don’t approve?
So Van Der Beek has pretty much joined Manure and Rakitic has joined Sevilla. So much for our esteemed leader’s prowess in bringing in quality signings. I’m not saying that the signings have been poor, but at least one of these named would have improved the squad immediately. How many more do we have to “miss out” on before the bald one gets it?
Before anyone scream “this is a Tottenham blog” when I saw Tottenham fan Adel from “TOTTENHAM” wearing the Jamaica flag bra top thingy, wearing her hair in a African style (China bumps/ Nubian knots) I was triple proud🌚 then I read all the sisters moaning about it. LEAVE ADEL ALONE
Right now I’m picturing a Jose first eleven in my head under the lights in the rain, we look solid solid at the back and our attackers look lethal. Jose sitting down smiling. 🌚
Who ever we sign now SHOULD be a stop gap signing. A young hungry striker from off shore would be taking a chance as in (cups now) Top top strikers (unless they think they’re better than Kane) ain’t coming yet. Its a difficult one. Oliver would be good for now (while we search and save up a bit more) he’s got medals
Not many real real cockneys left in London now cush. All fkd off to Essex. London has a very different way of talking now. The youts them are spitting the modern day cockney, taking in twang the money people/authorities don’t understand. Its how cockney started, just like Jamaican/Caribbean patois, the slave masters didn’t have a clue what the mandem were talking about among themselves yet it was still english🌚 there’s a French version too.
Spurs keeping tabs on Chris Wood?
Yep beeky is going to united by the looks of it.. We could have done with him.
Cushty is my nickname, most people call me that. Or Cush for short. Evolved into Cushion over the years 😂…. Del boy had alot of cockney slang.. He definitely talked about kosher goods with rodders.
Whoever we get in to understudy Kane will get games.Mourinho will make sure he doesn’t burn himself out and increase the chances of further injury.Ln games where he feels Kane needs a rest he will bench him or even leave him at home.Thereafter it will be up to Kane as to how he reacts.Being the model pro I don’t expect any fallout.
Would be good business, should have done it before he renewed his contract about 6mo back when the first rumblings about our interest came out, back when Fat Frank had him sitting the bench behind Tammy.
He’s unselfish, great hold up player, technically adept, experienced, a winner, good attitude, a beast up against center backs, a guy who rarely loses aerials. If we have to buy him, not great business, could have bought him for almost nothing a year ago…and should have. I rate Giroud above Wilson, King, and the rest of the mediocre dreck we’ve been “linked with” as a backup striker. Couldn’t really care who he played for in the past, and suspect he’d fit easily with his fellow French internationals. Maybe he can even kick N’Dombele in the rear and apply an attitude adjustment.
too little too late for me, however they WILL get a lot of game time, thats the point, Kane can be rested for our 8723 games this season…
Can’t see it happening myself. He’s a good player but he won’t get any playing time unless Kane is injured. Does he want to be 2nd fiddle yet again?
Fair point in regard to Vardy but he was a £1 million punt (ok the playing field was different 8 years ago) rather than a £20 million one.
To me it looked as though the Levy/Jose chats had been set up…I am looking froward to the next 3 episodes though…
theres not going to be many good midfielders left by the time Chelsea and United have bought them all!
Hopefully that is what Jose is thinking too.
Lamela is still with us because his wages are cheap. Most of his goals have rarely added value, ie, 0-1 down…..Getting rid of Sissoko and Lamela could free up wages and “almost” buy Beek
Home sick!
Not sure I am bold enough to replicate the colour but I do like his new hair style!!
Giroud looks like a poster boy for Just For Men.
And one of those years he was out with a mystery hip (cough, cough) injury.
