“Solid as a rock” “Has he signed? Is it official?” So many fans are losing their minds over one player in particular

Gallows humour is sometimes all you have left. When the anger and despair subside, it’s perfectly normal to collapse into a fit of giggles.

So many fans cannot believe the poor quality of Matt Doherty, and one social media account suggested that you get what you pay for, and Spurs paid £14.7million. Is any of this unfair comment? It seems entirely accurate to me. Matt Doherty was not only the weakest link, he also drew other Tottenham players out of position to help bail him out.

If we look at where Arsenal threw the weight of their attack then this only further serves to damn Doherty. His flank wasn’t the one under the greatest amount of barrage. It was his incompetence that inflamed the situation and exposed Spurs. Opposed to pressure from our opponents.

Again, I’d ask Mourinho what was the deal with Serge Aurier, and just what improvement has Ledley King brought to our backline? These are troubling times.

Levy should never have sanctioned buying Doherty. It’s plain to see that Mourinho was more interested in bunging his agent a bit more commission than bolstering our back line.

If we spend 80m it will be on 6 players

Usual bargain basement, penny pinching leaving it to the last minute affair as always

Ledley was club ambassador, he might have dabbled a little in coaching.

It was another pr stunt, Mourinho wasn’t a popular choice, let’s wheel out a club legend as part of the coaching staff.

If Mourinho has left a novice coach to do the defensive work then he is getting what he deserves.

We may as well employ Ronnie Rosenthal to do the forwards coaching and Jason Dozzell to do the speed tests.

Do you think Jose Mourinho brought in Ledley King to fix the defence?

Again, like Bale, fans were happy with Doherty in the summer. Excited. This is how ENICs tenure has managed expectations to the point nostalgia PR and low quality cheap buyrite have become acceptable.
I couldn’t understand it. WHL demolished under pretence of “competing” (which was happening anyway) and the transfer window is bringing league 1/Championship stalwarts. This p$ss has been so effectively extracted at this point Levy can operate this joke shop with little problem. Dangling shiny things and calling it a football club. NO.

What worries me the most is if Levy doesn’t go and spend a combined total of about £80m on a right back and a centre half in the summer then we have another year of this nonsense!
