Sky Sports reporter shares interesting update on Tottenham’s top managerial target – confirms talks have taken place

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly continuing their push to appoint Julian Nagelsmann as their new manager, according to Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.

The former Bayern Munich coach is a top target for Daniel Levy and has been the front-runner for the position for some time.

But recent reports claimed that concerns over the club’s hierarchy and transfer strategy were stalling negotiations.

Plettenberg reiterated that the German coach wants to know ‘how much power’ he will have over player recruitment.

He adds that talks have taken place in the last few days and further talks are to follow.

Plettenberg also reported that the German wants to take his time before making a final decision.

Nagelsmann, who is just 35 years old, views Spurs as a ‘big club’ with ‘big potential’.

Tottenham Hotspur’s recent search for a new manager following the sacking of Antonio Conte has been ongoing for a while now with a number of managers linked.

Arne Slot has also emerged as a serious contender for the position and Luis Enrique remains an option too.

The club will want to hire a new manager as soon as possible, so that they can start their summer rebuild process.

They are also yet to appoint a replacement for Fabio Paratici who resigned from his role as sporting director last month following the 30 month ban on him.

They have already appointed Scott Munn as the Chief Football Officer, who is responsible for overseeing all football operations at the club.

It will be interesting to see who the club will finally appoint as their new manager, and how he will shape the future of the team.
