Sissoko believes Ajax’s expansive approach could yet work in Spurs’ favour and knows an early away goal could prove pivotal.
“I think the good thing is Ajax is a team that likes to play. I don’t think they will stick together at the back, sit at the back and only try to defend.
“I think they will try to play, try to score and, for us, we know we have to score as early as possible.”

The old French warhorse is probably right, and it’s Tottenham that travel with an away goal against them – which means we could be in for an actioned packed game.
I watched the KNVB Cup Final (with Arsenal game on another screen with the sound off) and Ajax’s work ethic needs mentioning in dispatches. Willem II weren’t completely awful, just devoid of star quality.
Even after the 3rd goal went, Erik Ten Hag’s boys kept forcing the issue and the eventual 4-0 win was a credit to a side that could have slowed off a little after the second goal.
This is good news for anyone fancying an ambitious punt tomorrow night. Spurs to win 2-1 is @10/1 and a 3-3 draw is @40/1.
The big question remains, ‘where are Spurs going to get their goals from?’

I think last week there was a lack of pace when we broke and we were too quick to lump it long at times. At least Son should stretch them and with Sissoko starting we’ll have a better balance in midfield. With Sissoko starting we should gave a better balance in midfield – i never thought i would ever hear myself saying that!
Well I would say mainly from Sonny who had extra rest over the weekend, sadly he will be heavily marked so will find it difficult. I don’t care if it comes from lorentes thigh/arm quite frankly, might not be in a semi for a very long time.
