You’d think with all the negative vibes surrounding Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, that some small attempt might have been made to ensure that the last home game of the season went without incident. After all, how long has the club had to prepare for this moment?
Not long enough it would appear. First, a decision was made to admit fans, but rather strangely to scatter them away from the pitch. This was not only designed to keep the advertising hoardings in place over the lower tiers, but it was perhaps also part of security measures given the recent fan protests outside of the stadium. The thing is, you can’t inflict limitations like this upon customers who are paying £60 (more than any other club in the league) to watch a run-of-the-mill game.
Judging by these photos’ courtesy of the Mirror, it can take about six stewards (one using an elbow to the face) to halt one gentleman who has opted to walk where he ought not to walk.
Context? Oh no, not context! That’s right, this fan hadn’t just arrived and had declared his interest in attacking someone. Not at all.
He’d watched the game and been told to wait for the players to come out and get what is usual on these occasions, namely the waving and cheering business done.
After half an hour, a further announcement was made. Kindly leave the premises. So this chap, like many, was not happy. And, like many others, was furious that he’d been so distanced from the action.
So what was his natural response? To move closer to the pitch area in order that his discontent could be heard.
Shambles ensued.
I’d like to see a video of the entire incident because that elbow looks like assault. I could be wrong, but is ‘walking about in a stadium with only home fans in a violation that warrants violent restraint? What was this man planning to do that was so terrifying?
There was a time when THFC had class. Even when we were Relegated . I think it was Sidney Wale , Chairman, in the Club Handbook, who said Mentioning the Double , ‘We were in the Limelight Then, We shall do so again ‘. We have turned into a 2 Bob Asshole Outfit.
If Fans are to return then ‘Taking The Knee’ will end because of the Booing etc . Of course an excuse for ending this farce will be made and will have nothing to do with the Supporters Booing .
Looks like the poor guy was only looking for the pie and pastie shop.
Correctemente James
Money money, money, it’s a rich man’s game. 🤑💰💵
Harry, I am happy you chose to call us customers and not fans, because that’s all we are, miserable paying customers to a greedy bunch of c***ts.. I will never go to the stadium while ENIC are in control, and if it gets any worse I will support my local team Barnet FC. Rant over.
Some fantasy “any sort of good news” for CzechSpur and others on this a dull, windy day. Conversation between Daniel Levy and Joe Lewis-bear with me.
DL. Lookout Joe. The times they are a changing. Yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away. When the heat hits the street. Trouble coming every day. Harry’s leaving on a jet plane. Talkin bout a revolution.
JL. Relax. Feel the pain. This too will pass.
DL. Didn’t we almost win it all? I’ve seen the future I can’t afford it.
JL. Oh Danny boy. Play the game.
DL. You don’t understand me.
JL. Money’s too tight to mention. The debt I owe, it’s a rich mans game no matter what they call it. Sell Sell Sell.
DL. Hey Joe where are you goin’ with that g….?
JL. Take the money and run. Hangs up.
Exactly. How difficult is it to show a tiny bit of goodwill to the fans who have suffered through the entirety of this season? Lower prices, good seats, lap of honour. We don’t want that much.
But no, fans pay through the nose for sh*t-tier seats and then get physically abused for wanting to see the players do a traditional lap of honour.
Horrible.
😆
I’ve gotta video for that!
I foresee much trouble in the stadium next season if they continue this heavy handed stuff.
Boy they have their work cut out in every sense of the word
Why not?? Let’s have more!😲
I think H will probably do a break down of it.
There is a long statement online. But remember that will be ten minutes of your life you’ll not get back
When a club starts to fear it’s fans the rot has really set in.
The sad thing is that it wouldn’t take much goodwill to get the fans onside.
Every fan now is seen as a potential threat now.
If that’s the road Levy wants to go down he better have ten thousand stewards next season.
Please, no more.
This is the world now. Authoritarian, totalitarian, high vis tyranny. Once again, like the old bill, makes an absolute mockery of the psychological torture op known as “social distancing”. As soon as it suits the goons, whatever uniform they don, they pile in….manhandling and smothering and slobbering over anyone who’s deemed to be acting inappropriately. So you make the fans sit in nice neat rows all 3 metres apart or whatever for their “safety” …then weigh into them with their “safety” somehow now unimportant. This is ALL BOLOX. Get fans back in grounds in full, no masks, no stupid tests, no distancing and STOP THIS CHARADE.
NHS posters on chemists, surgery’s and adverts all over media about 1 in 3 asymptomatic spread are LIES. Asymptomatic spread is proven negligent if not non existent. If you got a virus, whatever it is, stay home and recover. That’s common decency, I’ve managed to do it all my life, I’m sure you all have too.
They posted general minutes from the meeting but it seems as though they have forgiven and forgotten
The club has gone mad. It’s creeping down from Levy.
Has the club ever been at such a low ebb? I have gooner mates that are actually sympathetic such is the toxic cloud surrounding us right now. It’s at the point where it’s not even about the football, the club is a shambles and the feeling of hopelessness is what stings the most
Anyone heard from the THST since their meeting on the 18th….gone quiet…maybe they’ve been offered more than tea and biscuits this time….access to the cheese room!
When you say shameful, do you mean the lack of a suitable belt and under sized over garments?
In a surreal twist, I have more…
What an absolutely mind-blowing farce the last home game was. And I thought I’d only be disappointed by the business on the pitch this time.
Imagine paying 60 quid to watch us lose to Villa at home from the upper decks and then not even getting an end-of-the-season lap of honour. When you try to make your displeasure known, some kn*b tries to elbow you in the face.
I think we really desperately need any sort of good news or positive vibes related to Spurs, because the last few weeks have been downright diabolical. I struggle to remember a time when I felt so disconnected from and disgusted by the entire setup, from players to the board, apparently including the stewards now as well.
