La Liga club hoping to sign Tottenham winger; player wants the move

Bryan Gil in action

Tottenham Hotspur will be aiming to revamp their squad in the upcoming transfer window.

Spurs are not only seeking new additions to the roster but also considering the potential offloading of some surplus players.

One such player is attacker Bryan Gil, who has spent much of the current campaign on the sidelines.

Although the Spaniard has made 10 appearances in the Premier League this season, he has only been included in the starting XI twice, playing a total of just 189 minutes.

Furthermore, Gil hasn’t even been included in the squad for 7 of Tottenham’s last 9 league fixtures, suggesting he is not in Ange Postecoglou’s plans and could be on his way out of North London this summer.

Sevilla hoping to re-sign Bryan Gil

Sevilla, Gil’s former club, reportedly believes they could reacquire him at a significantly reduced price, possibly around a quarter of what the Lilywhites paid to sign him.

Spurs struck a deal with the Andalusian club for Gil in the summer of 2021, agreeing to a transfer fee of £21 million.

However, according to the Spanish outlet Vamos Sevilla, La Liga club believe they can re-sign the 23-year-old for a remarkably lower amount, considering his limited playing time at Tottenham this season.

The report also claims that the player himself is keen on a move back to his former club.

Sevilla is hoping for a deal to secure Gil for as little as £5 million in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Gil, who has yet to score a goal for the Lilywhites in 42 career appearances, may be on the verge of leaving, but Daniel Levy is unlikely to allow his departure for such a low fee, particularly when the winger’s current market value is €16 million.
