Tottenham Hotspur are one of several Premier League clubs who are trying to sign Barcelona centre-back Samuel Umtiti, according to reports in Spain.
El Desmarque understand that Barcelona are ready to sell the 26-year-old after a difficult spell with injuries and have a bunch of suitors in England.

Manchester United and Arsenal are also linked to the Frenchman who was considered one of the best defenders around either side of starting for his country throughout their triumphant World Cup campaign in 2018.
As a general rule, central defenders peak from 27-31 so any club that gets Umtiti potentially has his best years ahead of him, if he can stay injury free.
And that is the one caveat to Umtiti, who has missed 31 games with knee problems since September 2018, according to transfermarkt.com – thus why Barcelona appear willing to cash in on him while his value is preserved.
OPINION Umtiti’s left-footedness would make him a well-suited replacement for Jan Vertonghen, if we feel we can gamble on his fitness.
Tottenham are currently plagued with injury prone players!
Then again, if he did not have any fitness issues, we would probably not have a chance of signing him.
Is the Polish lad a long term replacement for Kane? Levy has never tried to sign a younger backup striker apart from Jansen, Kane probably hasn’t been sold yet because it didn’t work out. Levy’s gotta cash in on Kane before he gets into his late 20’s remember!
Boy do we need signings…
If Levy is suddenly spending a few quid it is purely because top 4 is slipping away. He gave Arry a few quid to spend after we flirted with relegation and got him in.
More short term patching up, no plan that I can see…
Foyth might go on loan, told you Jose doesn’t trust younger players didn’t I…
Nobody can be that bad.
They’ll just go and have some cheese and a craft beer and mutter something about the new gaff having to be paid for. Probably.
It will illustrate how we’ve been allowed to rot after we beat them 4-1 at Wembley…
Rasiak Mk2?
Other club’s cast offs, typical Levy fare…
Google him! 😂
Now that you have mentioned his name come to think of it where is the anonymous Danny Rose??
Are you serious?
Dilly, does this mean you did a Danny Rose google search?
Piatek is called by fans as “Il Pistolero” (the Gunslinger) due to his habit of Wild West celebration of gun-firing, associated with the 19th century United States.
(Wiki)
Perhaps we get lucky?!
“AC Milan have signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer and that’s pushed Piatek further out of the picture”….umm, he must be good then 😳
Evening all. One thing about Harry Kane the last time he was out for an extended period is that his focus and fitness regime is such that I am confident he will return before April.
Hope he’s not the new Grzegorz Rasiak.
Him and Victor going the other way by the looks.
Piatek is described as less mobile than Kane, scores mainly in the box, very good at pressing, scored well for Genoa but the goals dried up a little at Milan. Think his name is pronounced as Pyontek. If he has a little of Robert Lewandowski about him, welcome aboard.
Somebody having a bit of fun on Wikipedia, Piatek is now a Burnley player. Another entry has him as a Spurs, Wolves, Aston Villa and Everton player. On twitter, a highly reputable Italian source says he is going to Spurs. Looks like Foyth could be being sold.
Oops 😁👍
Hope we just did a number on the Pikies
Well if the Polish deal is real, I think more will follow.
He played the whole match that’s why I mentioned it.😄
I said it earlier I wouldn’t be surprised if he announced a new signing to take the heat off himself. A bad result v Liverpool and the crowd will let him know.
Someone to show off to the fans on match day.
Think he’s been out of the team lately.
Exactly, he’s going to be squirming in his seat watching Liverpool.
No top four, he’s $hitting himself or should be.
Kieran Trippier must be enjoying life, I watched the highlights to see how he was doing. Didn’t see him once but he’s in another tin pot final already.
Well, looks like we have a Polish centre forward, who has scored four goals in 18 games for Milan, hot stuff. Sun has the story and Piatek’s Wikipedia entry now has him as a Tottenham player, though it fails to mention his last club is Milan wrongly giving Genoa who he left for Milan. Anybody can edit Wiki, so is it true? Levy moves, well wonders never cease.
Why? Has someone come up with £4 billion?
Aurier to sign a new contract shortly…
Levy’s version of ‘afford’ might be different to everyone else’s…
Some of the contributors on this site might have seen a film called The Big Short which dealt with the sub-prime mortgage meltdown in the US. If you could short Enic and Daniel Levy now, it would be a profitable trade. The jig is up for these chancers.
You could see this happening 2.5 years ago (as a lot of us did), but I think its even worse than that…….I have a prediction….Chelsea will use an advert next year something along the lines of “the only London club in the CL”…watch this space….
The deluded fan base is a huge part of the problem. Talking about boycotting ffod and drink outlets on Facebook. Never mind that, boycott the ground. Players and daft. They will understand why it’s happening, and I think it’s a safe bet alot of them feel the same as us anyway. Unless we get players for the here and now, talented, determined footballers we are going to slip away at a truly alarming pace. I’d hoped that Daniel might have received football index as an Xmas pressie, but reckon he was out off by the stuff about 500 quid. People to help Daniel son, not someone for profit in 2 years
A team in itself….
Injured:
Sissoko
N’Dombele
Kane
Davies
Hugo
Rose
Dier
Other
Wanyama (won’t play again)
Eriksen (on his way)
Super Jan (probably on his way)
Le Celso (only Levy knows this one)
KWP (probably on his way)
Oreo – please no…..
😁👍
That was probably Levy.
I do, but I didnt want to sound so…..pessimistic ?
I tell you what if Spurs don’t get a back up striker and give Harry proper rest, that retirement might be a lot closer than people think.
I’ve said this before….when Kane is gone or retires, it will be a long long time before we are lucky enough to get another player like him…he really IS that good…
Remember Barry Maguires big hit, “The Eve of Destruction?
Talksport saying earlier Levy needs to go and get Ing’s or Wilson or the fans won’t be happy….ring ring..”hi, I’m a Tottenham fan, we dont need Kane, we did well without him before”….this is why Levy gets away with it, our fans are idiots….!!!
He returns to training in April, the season ends on May 17th and then there is a month to the Euros. We all saw the difference in being fit and being match fit in the Champions League Final. He’ll be lucky to get three or four games in before the Euros. If he can’t play or is hopeless, well he doesn’t have to look very far to find the culprit.
Only 1 natural Striker for the 9th richest club in the world, and now look…Daniel “winging it” Levy….
Quite a few years back there was a song titled “Where do we go from here”.
How is that the Spurs supporters clearly saw that Kane was being over played by both Tottenham and England and yet the powers that be either could not or ignoreD it. Yet again, a prime example of our beloved chairman’s staggering incompetence. SACK THE BOARD!
Kane out till April. So with getting fit again his season is likely over and possibly played his last game for us.
Last night Leicester played Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup semi final. I kept thinking as Grealish and Maddison took the stage what could have been if we had a chief executive who understood football matters instead of an anally retentive paper clip counter.
Perhaps Levy will surprise us all and start spending on bigger established names now Maureen is manager?
I can’t see it, but you have to ask why he got Jose in if he isn’t going to go with his methods. Jose had been going on about using the players he has but I’ve yet to see him in a job where he hasn’t been able to build a team in his vision.
It didn’t work at his last job at Utd so would Levy ignore all that and back him? Right now I see both men’s track record in the transfer market and I see no similarities at all.
Has the lack of signings been because Poch wanted out because of a lack of backing so Levy’s kept whatever budget he has in reserve for the next manager? It’s our only hope here.
Let’s hope Levy has a change of approach planned, because if he doesn’t this is not going to end well.
We can only afford “broken biscuits”.
Linked with other club’s cast offs, as usual….
I remember Emergency Ward 10 like it was yesterday. Anybody we buy will have a health warning attached as we always take the cheap option in the transfer market. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. Never mind, we have the best training facilities in the world and a soon to be half empty “craft ale emporium”, (The Guardian).
Not a football club, more Emergency Ward Ten. (Older readers will get the reference)
Do a swopsie for Wanyama.
