‘said enough about him’: Premier League star gives his take on Tottenham summer signing

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur signed James Maddison from Leicester City during the summer transfer window.

The 26-year-old England international has been in fine form since joining the London club and he has already established himself as a key player for them.

Maddison has made an instant impact at Tottenham and his performances have been rather impressive. He made his mark in the north London derby at the weekend with two assists and Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson has now heaped praise on the 26-year-old.

Wilson believes that Maddison is a player brimming with confidence and he has enjoyed the Tottenham midfielder’s performance so far.

Wilson also joked that any more praise for the Tottenham star would make his head blow up.

“I think you said enough about him,” said Wilson on The Footballer’s Football Podcast. “I am not going to repeat it all and make his head blow up anymore because he is already confident as it is.

“He has been doing well, he has been doing well. I like to see it. I enjoy it.”

Tottenham needed to add creativity and goals from the central areas of their midfield and Maddison has been a remarkable addition for them.

The 26-year-old had already proven his quality in the Premier League with Leicester City, but few would have expected him to make the impact he has so far.

The England international is already an indispensable asset for Ange Postecoglou and he will look to build on his impressive start to life at the north London club and help them return to the UEFA Champions League.

Spurs will also look to challenge for domestic trophies and Maddison could prove to be invaluable for them throughout the season.

Apart from his ability to fashion out chances for his teammates, the 26-year-old is an expert from set pieces and is a bonafide match-winner who can turn things in his team’s favour in an instant.
