Barcelona have reportedly given Ousmane Dembele a deadline to sort out his future as he edges closer to becoming a free agent.
The France international was recently linked with Tottenham by 90min, so it may be of interest to Spurs fans to see what’s going on with his situation at Barcelona.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona seem keen to keep Dembele, but will look to move things along by pressuring him with a time limit to put pen to paper on a new deal.
Spurs could do well to keep an eye on this situation, as it could mean there’ll be movement on Dembele’s future pretty soon, with Barca surely needing a decision from him very soon as January edges closer.
Dembele will be free to hold talks with new clubs from January onwards, so if this isn’t sorted soon, Tottenham could be in a position to pounce for this signing fairly imminently.
Whether or not the club should be considering Dembele after his Barcelona struggles is another thing, but it seems likely the 24-year-old, who was once considered a huge prospect, will have a long list of suitors given his potential status as a free agent.
Goody another reject joining Reject FC. We’re becoming a home for waifs and strays, the Battersea Dogs Home of footballers. Here at N17 players are magically transformed into deadwood and watch their values plummet as fast as their form. The wonderful world of Daniel Levy where fans are rinsed for every penny they have in return for perennial failure on a gargantuan scale.
Couldn’t agree more. The money in the game now has ruined it.Kids get a sniff of the first team, they thing that’s it,job done.
You have to question the character of players these days not only their ability, it’s a sad indictment of the modern movie star image they think they are.
Players like Pogba as an example, he may have ability but a head full of sh1te to go with it, it’s rumoured that Salah is asking for a reputed £500,000 per week to stay at Liverpool, good player no doubt, but no player should be paid such an obscene amount of money, despite the riches the game has to offer.
Can we please refrain from buying any more players with ‘issues’. We want normal human beings, who want to be professional footballers and go out there once or twice a week to earn their money by trying their hardest to win every game and even entertain the crowd. Is that too much to ask.
