Manchester United legend Roy Keane warns Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal ahead of the North London Derby against Tottenham, describing it as ‘a mad game’.
Arsenal are all set to square up against Tottenham Hotspur away from home in search of three important points that will keep their hopes of winning the league title intact. Mikel Arteta’s team might be at the top of the league but they only have a point’s advantage over second-placed Manchester City who also have a game in hand.
A win over their arch-rivals will keep Arsenal’s hopes alive but a defeat could be a major blow to their title aspirations. Meanwhile, there is a lot at stake for Tottenham as well in this North London Derby.
Ange Postecoglou’s team are fighting for a top-four finish, they are seven points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa but have three games in hand, a win here will take them closer to their objective.
While Arsenal have been the more dominant team throughout the season, former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane believes Spurs could spoil the party and come out with a positive result from this fixture.
Speaking on the Stick to Football Podcast, Keane said: “I think Spurs will get a result. I think 1-1- or 2-1 Spurs, I don’t think Arsenal will win. It could be a mad game and Spurs could turn up.”
The Gunners are heading into this fixture on the back of a 5-0 win over Chelsea. Despite that, Keane believes Arsenal will not come out on top in the North London Derby on Sunday. He feels it will be a frantic contest and Spurs might just be able to get a good result here. The Manchester United legend has predicted a 1-1 draw or a 2-1 win for the home team.
