Romano confirms formal bid rejected as Tottenham hope to finalise transfer before window closes

The future of Tottenham winger Manor Solomon remains in doubt as the transfer window approaches its final days.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Solomon is still expected to leave Spurs before the window closes, despite rejecting a formal offer from Spanish side Getafe.

The 24-year-old prefers to remain in England, where he feels more comfortable.

Romano shares the following on X:

“Manor Solomon, still expected to leave Spurs in the final days of the transfer window. Solomon has rejected formal bid from Spanish side Getafe and his priority remains to stay in England.”

Solomon joined Tottenham last summer on a free transfer, benefiting from FIFA’s extended compensation rules for foreign players from Ukrainian leagues. However, Solomon’s time at Spurs has been marred by injury struggles.

A meniscus injury in his right knee sidelined him from October until July, with initial surgery followed by a second minor procedure that further delayed his return to action.

Despite these challenges, Solomon still has four years left on his contract, which runs until June 30, 2028.

Last season, Solomon managed just 198 minutes across five Premier League appearances, during which he contributed two assists.

However, his talent is undoubted, with him having previously shown his abilities at Shakhtar where he scored 22 goals and assisted another 9 in 106 games.

As the transfer window draws to a close, Tottenham will be hoping that they can finalise a deal to offload the attacker.

Given his preference to stay in England, any potential move would likely involve another Premier League club. The final outcome, however, remains uncertain as the deadline approaches.
