Richarlison could be used in a surprise player-plus-cash deal with a Premier League club

Former Tottenham scout Bryan King has floated the idea of including Brazilian striker Richarlison in a potential player-plus-cash deal as speculation over his future intensifies.

The Brazilian forward has been subject to transfer rumors, with reports suggesting that Tottenham Hotspur are open to selling him if the right offer comes along.

Interest from several Saudi clubs has added fuel to the speculation, with potential suitors reportedly willing to invest substantially, which could help Spurs recoup the £60 million they paid for Richarlison’s services in 2022.

Fueling the rumors further, former Brazil attacker Jose Ferreira Neto claimed that Richarlison is unhappy at Tottenham and desires a return to Brazil.

However, Richarlison has refuted these claims, publicly stating his commitment to remaining in England for the upcoming season.

Now, Bryan King has suggested that Tottenham could explore the option of utilising Richarlison in a player-plus-cash deal.

In an interview with Tottenham News, King highlighted the potential challenges in finding a buyer willing to meet Daniel Levy’s valuation for the Brazilian striker.

King said:

“Who is going to pay the type of money Daniel Levy will want for him,”

“He will cost very big money, and it would be a big saving for the club if they could sell him.

“I could see him being used in a player-plus-cash deal, especially with a Premier League club.

“However, I can’t imagine there will be too many takers for him.”

Considering Richarlison’s hefty price tag, King proposed the possibility of incorporating him into a deal with another Premier League club.

However, he acknowledged that finding suitors for such a deal might prove challenging.

Since his high-profile move from Everton, Richarlison has struggled to live up to the expectations placed upon him at Tottenham.

With the club reportedly eyeing alternatives in the transfer market, including the likes of Dominic Solanke, Ivan Toney, and Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher, using Richarlison as a bargaining chip in potential deals could present an attractive option for Spurs.

As Tottenham weigh their options amid Richarlison’s uncertain future, utilising him in a player-plus-cash deal could represent a strategic move to address their transfer needs while maximizing the value of the Brazilian striker.
