But beIN SPORTS understand that the Sporting Lisbon midfielder is still on the table and holding talks with a London club – most likely Spurs.

I have no idea how well-connected this Critchley is, but the same story has been picked up by Miguel Delaney in The Independent, who reckons we have revived our interest in a player we tried to sign in the summer.
If Fernandes is available this month and goes elsewhere, I’ll be gutted.
