Report: Tottenham looking to agree “huge” deal with 116-cap International soon

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking to agree on a new contract with star attacker Son Heung-min.

A report from Football Insider claims that the 31-year-old South Korean international is ready to commit his long-term future to the club and they are preparing a “huge” offer for the player.

The development will come as a major delight to the fans as well.

Son already earns £190,000 a week at Tottenham and he is currently the club’s highest-paid player. The new deal is expected to include a pay rise for the player.

Son has been in outstanding form for Tottenham this season and he has returned to his best after a mediocre campaign last year. The 116-cap South Korean international has 10 goals and 4 assists to his name in 17 Premier League appearances and he will hope to help Tottenham return to the UEFA Champions League at the end of the season.

There is no doubt that the 31-year-old is one of the best players in the Premier League and keeping him at the club for the long term should be a top priority for the north London giants.

He has a contract with them until the summer of 2026 and it remains to be seen whether the two parties can iron out an agreement soon.

The South Korean has carried the goalscoring burden for Spurs after the departure of Harry Kane. Tottenham will hope he can continue in his rich vein of form and stay fit until the end of the season.
