Report: Tottenham lists Inter Milan defender a No. 1 target to improve the backline

By Eddie Razo -

The backline at Tottenham Hotspur could be seeing an addition this summer. Over the past few months, the north London has been connected to various players they might add to play alongside Cristian Romero and Eric Dier.

Of the many targets linked to Spurs, the Daily Mail reports that Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni is their number one target to strengthen their defense this summer. It comes as no surprise that manager Antonio Conte wants to reunite with his former player.

Bastoni knows that Conte wants from the backline of three and there’s no adaptation period regarding a player needing to learn the system. Inter Milan might be willing to let the Italy international leave if they meet their asking price.

Last summer showed that the Serie A side is willing to let players leave regardless of their importance if a club is ready to pay. When it comes to a fee, Transfermarkt puts Bastoni’s value at £54-million, and he is under contract until 2024, so Inter Milan doesn’t need to sell the 23-year-old if they don’t get a sum that they don’t see fit.
