Report: ‘Tottenham intermediaries have made contact’

By Mehdi Gokal -

According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham are interested in signing Brighton’s Evan Ferguson and have made an enquiry to see whether the club are willing to sell him or not.

Kane’s transfer saga finally concluded with his move to the German giants for a reported £100 million, as he sought to add silverware to his otherwise illustrious career.

While Tottenham did not want to sell their most prized asset, Daniel Levy reluctantly had to sell him as the player’s contract was to expire next summer and he did not want to sign a new contract extension.

Spurs now have to look for a replacement with the club linked with a number of strikers including the likes of Jonathan David, Gift Orban, Brennan Johnson, and Elye Wahi.

The latest to be linked with Tottenham is Brighton’s 18-year-old star Evan Ferguson.

According to TEAMtalk’s sources, ‘Tottenham intermediaries have made contact over Ferguson’s availability.’

Ferguson was on the scoresheet for Brighton during their 4-1 win against newly promoted Luton Town on Saturday. scoring in the 95th minute from a Pervis Estupinan assist.

After the goal Gary Linekar tweeted:

“Evan Ferguson scores in Fergie time. He’s a born goalscorer. If I was in charge of recruitment at Spurs, I’d take a punt on him as Kane’s replacement. Apologies to Brighton fans.”

However, the report claims that Spurs know signing him will not be easy as the club knows that Brighton have no intentions of selling the player who signed a new contract with the club in April.

TBH Says:

Regardless whether Tottenham pursue Ferguson or not, he is not going to be a Harry Kane replacement.

Tottenham need to use the Kane money and sign a world class player who could be a statement signing.

Besides, Brighton have already lost several key players this season to Chelsea and Liverpool. They may not sanction any more moves this summer.
