A couple of weeks ago, Tottenham Hotspur began revamping its wing-back position when they added Ivan Perišić to improve the left side. Now they’re looking at their right side, and one of the targets is Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence.

Spence last season on loanee with Nottingham Forest, helping them reach promotion to the Premier League next season. Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano provided the latest on Spurs’ interest in the 21-year-old.

Romano states that there are negotiations this weekend; Tottenham has been interested in the right-back since March but still no official offer, but there will be new direct contacts next week between the two sides.

He adds that right wing-back is a priority along with central defense, so Spurs will be looking to land Spence or perhaps secure another wing-back to place on the right side.

This past season, Spence appeared in 50 fixtures for The Reds, scoring three goals and recording five assists. When it comes to a possible asking price, Transfermarkt puts the 21-year-old’s value at £7-million.

We bid 2M in installments spread over 5 years and a voucher for two free pints (filled from the bottom of the glass, it’s magic in it?!) and a packet of crisps from the ENIC Hotspur Stadium’s longest bar in the UK, just past the cheese room.

Looks like Spurs will miss out, Forrest miss out, so unless someone comes in with a realistic £20 million plus fee we can enjoy Spence as part of Boro,s championship winners next season

He isn’t. He’s another cheap, unproven punt. History tells me we rarely get those right.

Thought Tottenhams transfer policy had changed this year? But No. Reading the Tottenham web pages, apparently, we are looking at 31 players in total, to come in this window, 31. Have been chasing Bastini? of Inter, he says he’s Not interested, but Conte and co are still Begging him. MOVE ON and get someone that is interested in playing for us, whilst there are still good alternatives available. Go for Eriksen, ask him, if he needs time to think about it, MOVE ON. Get the business done early, give the players time to gel and then both Champions league and Premier league, hit the ground running. To many foreign players being muted, would like to see a few British players being looked at. COYS.

Hard to know a players real personality but in this case I agree . Think Spence thinks a lot of himself on the back of 2/3 decent performances . But , you’re right even in those games he did not give an impression of genuine “team” player or that he was outstandingly good .
Lets be honest , our requirements would be for someone approaching the Alexander-Arnold , Reece James or dare I say it – Kyle Walker mould ?? I cannot believe Djed Spence is remotely considered to be in their class ?????
