Tottenham Hotspur whiffed on Wolverhampton Wanders forward Adama Traoré, and now the north London club needs to figure out where to find a player that can play as a wing-back in Antonio Conte’s system.
According to The Express, Tottenham is still interested in a January swoop for Middlesbrough right-back Djed Spence, who’s currently on loan with Nottingham Forest.
The 21-year-old has made 26 appearances for the Championship side scoring one goal and registering two assists. The English newspaper relayed the value of the young defender at £12million.
Nottingham Forest sits seventh in the table, and so they have a shot for the playoff to have a chance at receiving a promotion to the Premier League. Spence is a quality young player, but he’s someone that wouldn’t come right away.
Furthermore, going from pursuing Traoré to a player currently in the Championship isn’t the best way to sell manager Antonio Conte that Spurs is willing to back him financially.
Haha! It’s Levy alright.
Well, January is notoriously difficult. Unfortunately, no one told the other clubs that.
True. What the f— was the point of signing Jack Clarke for 10M? A kid who couldn’t get on the Leeds team and now got loaned out to Sunderland, which is probably just about his level.
We spend money. Sometimes. But we are incredibly stupid with it. Tanguy, No Show, Clarke, Sessegnon. Just why.
We’ll finish fifth, Conte gone to a better club or should I say better chairman. Mediocre manager incoming, more Doherty’s and Clarke’s signed. Manager sacked before Xmas. Rinse, repeat
Just wait until the summer window that’s when all the money will be spent.
That’s what I hear some fans saying on other blog sites.
The level of self delusion among some fans is unbelievable and just plays right into the board’s hands.
Said it before, this is how a con works, you use someone’s desperate need to believe in some pie in the sky to take them for every penny.
Generally agree, Dele will probably still be here for the next few years.
Paratici’s dealings so far have not impressed.
Rumours come and go, I guess it’s hard for the media to keep up with all the lies. Sesko was linked, but obviously that’s not happening either. There will be zero signings this window and Dele is going nowhere
“I hide behind a smile, and understanding eyes”
No way ..should have been in there ffs.
Paratici seems a weird appointment if you are going to trawl the Championship.
This is the kind of signing Burnley make. That’s our level now. Never mind Diaz, we are getting schooled by Villa & Newcastle in this transfer window. Coutinho & Digne were signed in this transfer window and have gone straight int o the team already.
Steven Hitchen (during ‘All or Nothing’ documentary).
“Tottenham’s in a very fortunate position now where the profile of the club has increased so much and it’s nice to know that the players you can attract now is miles away from where they were five years ago.”
Yeah… the top players are desperate to join us.
It’s how he retains his height..sucking the joy out of everything around him
Okay… this lad might be good for the B-team.. those players who cover for First-Teamer injuries and are first pick for the Carabao. But to keep Conte and to stand a chance of a Top Four place this season we need to quality in now that can walk right into the first team. Not looking like we’re going to get one of those right now.
The song LIAR by Henry Rollins band….. ghost written by Levy..
Check it out.
Levy can suck the life and soul out of players, coaches and fans alike. He’s like some sort of demon.
This whole transfer window is turning out to be depressingly predictable and the icing on the cake will be a dejected looking Conte at press conferences.
Too expensive!
Blackburns Diaz going to West Ham.
The trouble is all the good C-Ship players like Bowen, Watkins, Benrama etc. will all be priced too high for our stingy chairman. If we do put offers in they will be lowball offers and others clubs will step in and snap them up from under our noses.
The only ones we’ll be able to get over the line will be the cheapo kids that nobody else is in for.
We’re building a squad of waifs and strays from France, Holland and the C-Ship – plus a kindergarten of kids that allegedly will be the next Messi or whatever. Daniel believes in fairies too.
I wouldn’t mind buying some of the best Championship players – unlike the N’boys, they at least have some experience of England and English football. Mitrovic, Brereton-Diaz, or Fabio Silva could probably all do a job for us.
Trouble is when you start signing their pre-pubescent wonders for 10M instead.
From what I have seen of Spence I am not against this deal happening, looks a natural for that WB position and working with Conte can only help him, go for it.
Have we signed Leandro Damiao yet?
So we’re now transferring our player targets from the French and Dutch leagues to the Championship? Talk about a headless chicken transfer policy. More Jack Clarke’s inbound?
The Don working his magic. He couldn’t point to Middlesbrough or Nottingham on a map if you paid him
The cheaper alternative? Never! Joe and Danny may be hard-headed businessmen, but unlike comments from Danny Rose on their wonderful, comparable to other clubs wages, can never be mistaken for tight, stingy bastards who live in the Victorian age and are more than aware of despite Alan Sugars ‘Buy Cheap, Sell Dear’ ethics for making money, know full well that if you buy cheap, you buy twice, same with players and that is what you get. Cheap. No, Joe and Danny only have the best interests of the club and her assets at heart, it is in there somewhere doctor? Their marvellous record speaks for itself and when they tell the manager the selling club were not doing business at this time, there is No WAY they could possibly mean, at that cheap price we offered and how would the manager know, he would never need to pick up the phone and ask the selling clubs manager who he has known and played with or against for sometimes over 30 years. In Joe and Danny I Trust!
