Report: Spanish Media Sources Believe They Have José’s 5 Man Transfer Hit list

By The Boy -

Once the English football season does get going again, the burning question has to be, “what will José do next?” or more pertinently, what will Daniel Levy allow José to do, next?

Our illustrious leader has already warned that the transfer budget is likely to be squeezed, should Spurs miss out on a Champions League spot for this 2019/20 season.

So what of this “5 Man Transfer Hitlist”? I hear you cry.

Well, Spanish outlet AS.com believes that they have the names, courtesy of Sky Sports Spain sources. It’s important to acknowledge here that a hit list is merely a wish list. You don’t necessarily come home with every item.

Here are the names: Youcef Atal at Nice, Jamal Lewis at Norwich, Sabitzer, Leizpig’s right back. Plus two LaLiga players, Eder Militao at Real Madrid and Geoffrey Kondogbia, the Valencia midfielder.

Any one of these players could arguably improve Spurs, especially in light of the dysfunctional state the squad is so obviously in right now.

Having a coach of José Mourinho’s calibre and not supplying him with the ammunition he desperately needs would be desperately shameful.

What will Daniel Levy allow José to do, next?

Signing some decent players is the only way forward. Our transfer activities have been hideous for years now when we were in the champions league. So not holding my breath. Now the whole world will be going into recession as well which can’t help matters.. I’m pretty sure the coming weeks, months, years, mr scrooges main priority will be money and finance.. As it has been for many years… Maureen needs his own scouts and director and targets nailed, if scrooge mcduck is targeting and buying the players then we are doomed.

I’m not sure that ‘calibre’ is a permanent thing in football management. You are only as good as your last game, trophy or ‘job done well’.

See no reason why Jose should get the kind of backing Poch didn’t get. Could always hire Capello or Van Gaal etc, on the basis of calibre…

He would walk out on Levy.

Plenty of erstwhile Spurs managers have presented their wish list to Levy in the past, only to be completely ignored. Why should it be any different this time? Levy will use corona virus and any other possible excuse to avoid the much needed rebuild. Mourinho has never bought many younger players and he does not have any track record for building a young side. Anyway, Levy will declare his usual mantra that we have to sell first before buying, which is a completely unnecessary strategy for the 8th richest club in the world, run by the highest paid chairman in the PL. Why can we not act with speed and decisiveness in the transfer market like our rivals? Chelsea have already agreed terms to buy Ziyech from Ajax before the window is open.

Covid-19 and isolation has clearly got the Spanish boredom factor to 100 …… They’ll be telling us next that Terry Venables is returning to manage Barca.

You could argue that is a hit list for any number of managers. If there was any substance to this,it’s strange he has switched his Norwich FB preference.Aarons would probably be more likely to come at a cheaper price than Atal.Kondogbia would definitely improve our midfield and referencing an earlier article we could move Dier on.
But as always everything hinges on Levy and how much he wants to spend.Of course the Coronavirus leading to loss of revenue gives him so many options as to why he cannot spend.

What will Jose do next? Sounds like an Enid Blyton title along the lines of ..
What Katie Did;
What Katie Did Next; and
Son of Katie
