Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is looking to improve his squad before the January transfer window closes.

According to a report from Football Insider, he is pushing for two new signings in the final week of the window. The Australian manager wants to sign a quality striker and a defender.

Spurs struggled with persistent injury problems this season and it has cost them dearly. They have been very inconsistent and are currently 15th in the league table. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can bounce back strongly.

Quality signings in January will certainly help them turn their season around. It remains to be seen whether Daniel Levy is willing to loosen his purse strings and help improve the squad this month. Although Postecoglou is keen on signing a forward and a defender, signing a forward is believed to be his priority.

Timo Werner and Richarlison have been unable to make the desired impact this season, and it is no surprise Spurs are prioritising a move forward. It will be interesting to see if they can bring in a dynamic attacker who is capable of slotting anywhere across the front three.

They need someone who will add goals and creativity to the side. Tottenham have been linked with multiple players recently, and it remains to be seen who they end up with.

They will be desperate to finish high up the table and they need quality additions. They will have to plug the gaps in their squad before the window.

Tottenham could easily be dragged into the relegation battle if they continue to falter. They cannot afford to take any risks in the transfer window, and they must look to bring in someone capable of making an instant impact.
