Tottenham Hotspur are keen on bringing in attacking reinforcements during the January transfer window and they will look to trigger the release clause of Serhou Guirassy.
The 27-year-old has been in outstanding form for VfB Stuttgart and he has 19 goals across all competitions. The striker has emerged as a top target for Tottenham who have made it their ‘objective’ to sign him in January.
The report from Gazzetta dello Sport further states that Tottenham want ‘to sign him early’ in January. The striker has a €17 million release clause in his contract and Tottenham certainly have the financial means to afford him.
Guirassy has been a prolific goal scorer in the Bundesliga and he could prove to be a quality addition to the Tottenham attack as well. They decided not to replace Harry Kane at the start of the season and South Korean international Son Heung-min has led the line for them so far. However, he will be away on international duty during the AFC Asian Cup and Tottenham need alternatives now.
The Bundesliga striker could certainly fill the void in the absence of the South Korean and it remains to be seen whether he can hit the ground running in English football.
He has the technical and physical attributes to do well in the Premier League and he could prove to be a major bargain for Tottenham if he manages to perform at a high level in the Premier League during the second half of the campaign.
A number of other clubs are thought to be keeping tabs on the striker including Inter Milan, AC Milan, and Manchester United. It remains to be seen who wins the race for his signature in the end.
