Report – Man City to offer this star in a swap deal for Kane

By Bruce Grove -

Manchester City remains interested in Harry Kane even though they have just completed the signing of Jack Grealish.

The Citizens have been long-term admirers of the Tottenham goal machine and after he asked to leave in this transfer window, they will feel this is the perfect time for them to get their man.

City are one of a few clubs that can afford him and they have been made favourites for his signature.

Tottenham wants £150million to sell him and that figure would be hard for City to pay.

The Daily Mail says Pep Guardiola is prepared to add Bernardo Silva as a sweetener in their offer.

The Portuguese star wants to leave the club as he continues to struggle for playing time.

He would probably benefit from playing under his compatriot, Nuno Espirito Santo at Tottenham.

City will go as high as £130million to sign Kane, claims the same report but they will not pay more and they hope adding Silva to their offer will make Tottenham accept it.

Raheem Sterling is another player that could be added to the offer, but the report says the unsettled England international isn’t interested in moving to Tottenham at this time.

I find it hard to believe that a deal for Kane is not officially completed by Friday. It is being delayed so Kane will not play in front of Tottenham fans…..for either team. Who in their right mind would turn down 130m plus Silva? Silva could be traded in a year and Levy would have an even bigger profit.

Silva is on 150k/wk. Not outlandish, especially if he comes in with a work ethic and a chip on his shoulder.

Enic are probably paying them. Make it look as though everyone loves them. Wouldn’t put anything past Levy.

I think the prospect of playing Europa Conference League and winning diddly squat while he’s with us may count against us more than missing out on some dosh in his percentage of a sell on. Like Laporte, he’ll probably go to Spain and play in a team that challenges and play CL football.

I thought most swap deals were effectively ‘making the two transfers at the same time’ – like the one we did with Saints a while back.

You still make the full transfer fee only they offset as you know you’re getting the money at the same time.

Bernardo Silva will never join spurs ,like previously mentioned ,footballers dont like to be involved in swap deals, they loose out on transfer fee % . If city does sell he would go to spain, italy etc this like the Martinez rumour is just to waste our time and make it seem like the Enic bastards tried. We still waiting for Damio,Benzema ,Aguero etc. For far to long have we been strung along by these clowns to believe anything anymore

Playmakers always trumps getting a defender for Spurs, surprised at the Laporte preference as we seem to be linked with loads of other defenders but never a high quality playmaker. The difference between the big boys and the mid table teams is the big teams hoover up the creatives, the playmakers.

Our current playmakers, if indeed that’s what they even qualify as, are completely useless so far to a man (Lo Celso, Ndombele, Dele).

If Silva actually wants to pull on the shirt and has a point to prove in this league then I’m all for this.

Every time I criticise ENIC I get the down votes. Maybe they lurk here for some ungodly reason.

Spurs had net spend for player purchase last 10 years £158 million which is a net spend of £15 million a year. there you go Levy apologists what that tells you I say a lack of ambition.

Seem like only one “Reliable” source coming out of N17 this term and that is Romano. So all else are feeding at his table. If he did not say it, it ain’t so. Everyone’ flinging what may seem a plausible angle to see if it sticks.

It’s game of jeopardy though innit. Kane has time on his contract, the selling clubs know that too. The deal needs to work for all parties, sell Kane and then go with your pot of cash you’re f*cked…

How about a photo of the right player? Anyway £120-130m plus (the right) Silva would be acceptable to me, but reckon the board only want cash. Shame because it would be nice to get it sorted and bring some more quality players in just for a change. No more Bale splurge binges please.

They seem to want Kane so bad they would just about accept losing Laporte.
but I still feel Levy will do his usual & mess up the deal close to completion ….in our favour, for once.
….which means we keep/have Kane, atleast until Jan.

I would, as you say, push for Laporte, they hardly played him last season, I’m sure his nose is out of joint with Diaz taking over, & would relish a new challenge.

Not sure what the point of Nuno talking to Kane is as that ship has sailed anyway I reckon.
and none of the magnificent 7 that turned out to be Magnificent 1 and a half.
feels like bloody Groundhog Day.

I think it’s pretty obvious that this stuff about wanting to keep Harry Kane to play alongside another striker is just being said to stop selling club sussing we’ve got the Kane money coming down the line.

Not going to lie but £130mil plus Bernardo and I’d run with it provided he wants to join, as much as I don’t want Harry to leave his mind is made up so a player worth (on his day) close to £70 mil in this crazy market plus £130mil seems like a no brainer….in all fairness this is coming from a no brainer so what do I know eh?….if Bernardo could turn into david silva tho I’d be for that too!!

Can’t imagine either would look at us twice. Perhaps it’ll be like the Berba deal and we’ll end up with an equivalent of Frazier Campbell on loan for the season.
