Gil was highly rated before his move to Tottenham and he will hope to get his career back on track with regular football once again. He is still quite young and he has plenty of time to fulfil his potential.
It is evident that Spurs will not be able to provide him with the opportunities he needs and therefore it would be ideal for all parties to go there separate ways. A move to Lazio could prove to be a superb opportunity for Gil to rediscover his sharpness and confidence.
If he can impress during the second half of the season at the Italian club, he might be able to secure a respectable move away from Tottenham permanently in the summer.
