Report: Brighton willing to sell star player to Spurs as they turn their attention to former Nottingham Forest ace

By Mehdi Gokal -

Brighton could be preparing to sell star keeper Robert Sanchez to Tottenham as new boss as new boss Roberto De Zerbi is reportedly considering a move to sign RC Lens’ star Brice Samba.

90min had earlier reported Brighton’s interest in the former Nottingham Forest keeper and had claimed that Sanchez is ‘attracting a lot of attention’ from Spurs and Manchester United.

The Spain international has been outstanding for Brighton, and his consistent performances have earned him international recognition, as he was named to the World Cup squad ahead of Manchester United’s David De Gea.

TeamTalk revealed a few weeks ago that Spurs ‘are looking at three replacements’ for Hugo Lloris. all of them whom are Premier League based. The report mentioned Sanchez as an option that Spurs are considering as a long-term replacement for the French keeper.

According to the same report, the 24-year-value old’s has risen to £50 million as a result of his stellar performances in the Premier League.

Sanchez has kept 25 clean sheets in 78 Premier League appearances. He is also known for having fantastic technical ability with his feet which helps Brighton play out from the back.

Despite the report, it is unlikely that Levy will spend £50 million for the Brighton keeper when there will be other better options that will be available for a fee in the same region including the likes of Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak who Spurs have also been linked with.

Spurs have also been linked with Everton’s Jordan Pickford and Leeds United’s Illan Meslier.
