Tottenham Hotspur wants to strengthen their backline as they eye a central defender to go alongside Cristian Romero and Eric Dier. Many candidates can fill this need for the north London club.
One of them would see manager Antonio Conte reunite with his former player, Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni.
According to Tuttosport (via SempreInter), there is a lot of interest from Premier League clubs for Bastoni, as Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United, and Manchester City are all admirers of the 23-year-old defender.
Despite Inter Milan rating the defender highly, they need to raise funds and as last year showed when they sold Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi, if an offer comes their way that they like, they’ll sell the player.
When it comes to a possible price, Transfermarkt puts his transfer value at £54-million, so it gives an idea of what the Premier League clubs might have to pay this summer.
In 44 fixtures, Bastoni scored one goal and recorded three assists.
These stuff has been there since February. Good luck. The Skriniar is become another Zaha coming every window. Why other club can’t turn his head, yet for 2 years any minute we will sign him. Just my take, Zaha had his most productive season ever. No one is saying we or Arsenal going to sign him. Makes me wonder.
Yes this is the boy he looks to have a bit of “dog” about him.
I know he is pricey but if he is our big spend…
Cannot wait for the transfer window to close…..then all this billy bulls**t in the press will stop.
Just let Conte go about quietly shaping his squad and watch us catch the top two and even win a trophy
I like this one but £54m is very very punchy.
The red and white bottle factory, residing at the ‘Invertebrates,’ can dream on! Man City already have Diaz, Stones, Laporte and Ake. Do they need another CB? Clearly not. So in reality it’s us and Man Utd, as Chelsea are closing in on Kounde. Given the Conte connection and the fact the boy is Italian, it’s a no-brainer that we are the front runners. So let’s dip into Patagonia Joe’s pocket change … pardon me … war-chest, dust off the moths and splurge a bit! Welcome to Spurs, Alessandro Bastoni!
