Tottenham have emerged as surprise contenders to sign Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher according to Football London.
The midfielder is one of Chelsea’s talented youngtser at the club.
He enjoyed a terrific season on loan at Crystal Palace in 2021/2022. He scored 8 and 5 assists in 39 appearances for The Eagles.
And this past season, he was one of the few players who performed well in what otherwise was a poor campaign for Chelsea.
However, as Chelsea plan their rebuild under new manager Mauricio Pochettino, Gallagher is being linked with a summer exit with Newcastle one of the clubs interested in signing him.
And the report adds that Tottenham have now also registered their interest.
Tottenham are also undee the process of another summer rebuild with new manager Ange Postecoglou now at the helm.
The report adds that Gallagher has been identified as one of names of potential summer targets after meeting with Daniel Levy.
Gallagher has only made 45 appearances for the first team, scoring 3 goals.
Chelsea under new owner Todd Boehly have already made a number of signings over the last two years and are expected to spend big again this summer.This would reduce Gallagher’s chances of playing time even more.
Meanwhile Ange Postecoglou who has built up a reputation of developing and improving young star’s at Celtic would be able to offer him more playing time if he has identified him as a player who would fit into his team.
With the summer transfer window now officially open, Spurs fans can expect a lot of transfer related activities.
