When Tottenham Hotspur acquired Bryan Gil this past summer, they were banking on the potential the Spain international has to be the next wave of young talent to break through on the squad. However, the 20-year-old hasn’t had much playing time.
This situation is where OGC Nice wants to take advantage of the situation. According to French media outlet L’Equipe (via Get French Football News), the Ligue 1 club hopes to grab the young forward on a loan deal.
Gil has made 19 appearances for the Premier League club, where he’s not scored a goal and has one registered assist. This past summer, Tottenham acquired midfielder Pape Matar Sarr from FC Metz but let the teenager remain in France for the 2021-22 season.
It will be interesting to see whether Spurs decide to take that same approach and let Gil play a prominent role for a club that’s fighting for a UEFA Champions League spot for next season.
Agree. Watching him in his cameos was like watching an 11 year old playing football with his dad and chasing his dad around the garden with neither the speed, muscle or guile to be able to get the ball off of him.
Seems to have some talent, but we can splash out how much on him but somehow not be able to pay the going rate for a grown up?
A loan deal and a set of dumbbells for this lad
Best thing for him, unless we are short of players let him go.
Yep,yep,yep and yep.
Pretty much everybody on this site agrees with you,it’s just a question of the elephant in the room and we all know who that is.
Complete waste of time like all the other youngsters we have bought. Anyway isn’t that the job of the academy? When you tot up the money we have spent on these kids over the last 5 years there is enough to have bought Vlahovich out right.
