Rennes to the rescue? Sky Sports tip Bruno Genesio to aid late transfer

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele continues to be linked with a move away from the north London club.

He was on loan at Napoli last season and the player does not have a future at Spurs. Initially, there were expectations that the newly appointed manager Ange Postecoglou would give him an opportunity to showcase his qualities this season but it seems that the Australian wants to cash in on the Frenchman.

A report from Sky Sports claims that Ligue 1 side Rennes could offer him an exit route.

Apparently, Rennes manager Bruno Genesio is keen on a reunion with Ndombele. He managed the French midfielder during their time together at Lyon and it remains to be seen whether Rennes can agree or a deal with Tottenham.

Spurs are unlikely to be able to recoup the money they paid for him and they should look to cut their losses on the player and let him leave. It is evident that he has struggled to adapt to English football and he is unlikely to set the league alight for Tottenham.

A move away from the London club would allow the Frenchman to resurrect his career as well. Meanwhile, Tottenham will be able to invest the proceeds from the sale into a new midfielder. A transfer away this summer would be ideal for all parties and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
