Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has confirmed his decision to remain with the club for the current season.
Speculations have recently linked the Danish midfielder with a departure from the Hotspur Way. Nevertheless, the player has opted to show his dedication and remain with the Spurs.
Renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano shared an update on Hojbjerg’s decision via his social media platform X.
With just eighteen months remaining on his contract, the defensive midfielder is poised to see his current deal expire on June 2025.
Despite this, there have been no indications of a contract extension offer, fuelling speculations about the player’s potential departure.
The 28-year-old has not been a regular in the starting line-up this season under Ange Postecoglou, having started only 5 Premier League games in his total 21 appearances.
Having fallen down the pecking order at Spurs, Hojbjerg previously expressed an interest in an exit to to secure regular playing opportunities.
Nonetheless, he has changed his heart and has opted to concentrate on the Lilywhites for the remainder of the season.
He said: “I’m not leaving Spurs on Deadline Day.
“I’m staying. I definitely feel that Tottenham is fighting for something.”
