Reasonable offer can help Tottenham land striker target

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham was interested in signing Wout Weghorst in the summer as they searched for a backup striker to Harry Kane.

They couldn’t reach an agreement to land the Wolfsburg attacker at the time, but they remain interested in his signature (Football365).

The Lilywhites ended the summer with a loan move for Benfica striker, Carlos Vinicius.

The Brazilian’s deal might be made permanent if he gives a good account of himself, but there is no guarantee of that happening and that opens the door for Spurs to move for another striker when the transfer window reopens in January.

Weghorst has continued his fine form this season with 6 goals in 9 league games, and his club has opened the door for a possible January move.

Wolfsburg managing director, Jorg Schmadtke was speaking about the striker’s future recently and he claimed that if a reasonable offer comes for his signature, then they will look to sell him.

He told SportBuzzer “We hold the reins in our hands. Then we tip the scales and decide whether or not.

“We have always said: If there is a reasonable offer that Wout also considers interesting, then we will sit down and discuss it . That’s how we discussed it when he renewed his contract. But everyone knows that I don’t like doing transfers in winter!”
