Real Madrid ready to pay £58m for Tottenham midfielder

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked with a move away from the London club.

According to Danish outlet BT, the 27-year-old Tottenham midfielder could be a replacement for Luka Modrić at Real Madrid.

The Croatian international is on his last legs and the Spanish giants will need to bring in a replacement for him.

BT believe that Los Blancos are considering the Danish international midfielder as a potential alternative. Apparently, they could shell out a fee of around £58 million

Hojbjerg has been an exceptional signing for Tottenham since his move from Southampton and he has established himself as a key player for Antonio Conte.

It seems highly unlikely that Daniel Levy will sanction the 27-year-old’s departure anytime soon.

The midfielder has recently been nominated for the player of the month award and he will be crucial to Tottenham’s quest for silverware.

The Danish international is one of the first names on the team sheet and losing him would weaken Spurs severely.

It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid are willing to come forward with a concrete offer for the Danish international in the coming months. They certainly have the resources to test Tottenham’s resolve.

Furthermore, the opportunity to join a club like Real Madrid is a tempting proposition for most players and it will be interesting to see if Hojbjerg’s head is turned once the interest is formalised.

With the likes of Harry Kane already being linked with a move away from the London club, the fans will be worried about whether Antonio Conte can keep his squad intact for the upcoming seasons.

He is a very good Player, well determined. But it is very disgusting to make him a replacement for Luka Modric, at 27 and his prime has not still been discovered.
He is not a replacement for Luka Modric and never will be. Come on, give us a better feedback. And I hope it not from BT sport or an English pundit.

PEH is to replace Modric?
Has someone at BT drunk too much Carlsberg?

Only a certain type of fan would be worried about Antonio Conte not assembling or keeping the squad HE wants at THFC.

If Conte wasn’t Manager Levy would have had Hojbjerg on the plane by now ready for January, but there is a whole different way of thinking at the club these days. We don’t go getting rid of vital players to make a quick profit, consequently we finally look like a team capable of winning silverware.

He would be a replacement for Casemiro. Problem is Tchouameni is already the replacement for Casemiro.

For £58m they can get a better player. I can’t see anyone paying more than 30-35m for PEH. If Real want to replace Modric they’ll go for someone like Neves or Milinkovic-Savic

PEH brings some important things to the team so he has his uses. Replacing Modric however, is not one of them…

So he would be a replacement for Modric? I can see absolutely no similarities between the two players and as Chirpy remarks below, for that money, I would also drive him to Madrid. I would file this story as the imaginative ravings of an idiot to be filed forever

Obvious nonsense that this is aside, I would drive him to Madrid myself for that money
